Photos are not full quality on my website
I am uploading my photos to my website to build and showcase my photography portfolio, however it appears my photos are being compressed and displayed as compressed. I shoot on a Canon 6D Mark ii that has a 26 Megapixel sensor but my uploaded photos look closer to about 12 Megapixels on my website when being viewed on a high resolution screen or mobile device. They look perfect off of my website but as soon as they're uploaded they seem to be getting compressed. This is really becoming an issue as I am trying to build a small busniess around my photography, and being in a market where quality is the key, my current website is practically worthless when trying to display my work.
Is there a way to not have my photos compressed when uploaded?

All images uploaded to a site are compressed to a certain extent, unless they are uploaded as files when making a link. It can sometimes help if you first resize them to the approximate size of the element you are uploading them to - this can cut down on the amount of compression. You can also link to a file with the image, then upload the large version with that.

Hi Adam,
My website banner is the problem with this. You say to "first resize them to the approximate size of the element you are uploading them to - this can cut down on the amount of compression".
What size is the banner element please?
Thanks,
Lea

Hi @leaS Can you post a link to your website? We should be able to tell you the exact dimensions for the theme you are using.

Hi Bernadette,
I did try that and the banner is still not great quality so I guess thats the best weebly can do.
Thanks for your response

I am very thankful that you posted!
I own an online art gallery, and once I decided to use category pages to make the site more user friendly...
All the photos look low grade and some are even blurred. This is really upsetting because I just upgraded my account on Monday!
This needs to be fixed asap, Black Friday is open TODAY!!!!!!

Thanks for posting, @SErdmann Unfortunately, there is no way to not compress the images that are uploaded. I would look into Adam's response that he provided:

Can you also please post a link to your site so we can get an idea of how blurry the images are? Thanks!
