Parallax scroll effect not working on smart phone mobile view and background is zoom right in.

Hello,

I am having a problem with the mobile version of my website. When looking at the mobile view through the editor everything looks perfect, just the way its supposed to be.

But when viewing from an actually smart phone the parallax background scrolling effect does not work and the back ground is zoomed in and slighty distorted.

Any Advice?

I'm pretty sure that's just how it works. The mobile view is presented differently than the desktop view. There is a way to make the site display exactly the same on mobile as desktop, but you have to completely bypass Weebly's build in ability to diferentiate the two. So, basically, you don't use their mobile version at all. You can google Weebly CSS tricks to make the it skip the built in converter. But, test your site if you do to make sure everything works well.

Sorry but I don't think thats right. As I said, the site appears fine on the editors mobile view but not from an actually mobile.

It wouldn't make sense to intentionally show me a nice copy of my mobile site and then give me the bad one.

JustBilly is correct.

No he is not. If the view shows in the editable version then why would it be different on an actual phone?

Bobafett. Stay of my threads. You are not wanted. You just keep posting with your wrong ideas and negative opinions so you can boost your post count.

Hey guys! Let's let cooler heads prevail. Smiley Happy

Parallax and video backgrounds do not currently work on mobile devices by design - I'm not sure when those will be updated to function on mobile.  The reason they work in the editor is because even though it's showing a mobile preview, it's still using a desktop browser rather than mobile browser.

Please Adam, can making the parallax effect on mobiles be a priority for Weebly? It's very super frustrating! Thank you

@ProtechLabs- I've been using Weebly for around 8 years now.  Had the same problem, years ago and found out the mobile version of the site is different. That's why I needed to find a work-around, which I did find.

The version you see in the site editor, even when you click on the mobile version... still uses the desktop design interface. That's why the background scrolls. But when on a mobile phone, that's not the case.

I don't understand why you are getting so upset with the answer... It's not my, or anyone elses fault it's not the answer you want.

I'm truly sorry for attempting to help you out and answer your question.

Cheers.

EDIT: Sorry Adam, didn't see your response.

I'm not upset with you Billy, I only said I don't think that is right. I appreciate your input.

The reason I express frustration is due to Bobafett commenting on all my posts with negativity. Although he didn't say much on this thread he has in others and I was just getting fed up.

No hard feelings.

Thanks for clearing that up Adam. I honestly didn't think that conclusion would make sense but guess I was wrong.

So the outcome here is weebly arent going to bother working on making the parallax effect work on mobile phones?

what is the actual limitation? Because i know people that have samsungs and it works for them. Just not iphone users... is there an iphone fix coming? Its definitely overdue.

I don't know if there are technical reasons for it not working, or if it's just something on the to-do list that hasn't been tackled yet, @AquaB. If it is possible I'm sure that our team will add it, though. Thanks for your patience!

Hi Admin

Happy New Year to you all.

Is there any update to the Parallax subject yet?  It has been a while now since it launched and still the mobile version makes things look quite poor.

We haven't made any changes to the way parallax sections work on desktop or mobile yet, @markwev. How did you want it to work on mobile devices?

Thanks for coming back Adam.

I'm not even too worried about seeing the true version of Parallax whereby two images scroll at different speeds. What I would at least love to see is the images, when viewed on a mobile, not being so zoomed in as to make them unintelligible. That would be a great help.

Is it the header or background images zooming in? Can you post your site so we can take a look?

Hi there, can you advice what "tricks" I can use so my site looks the same on a device as it does on desctop please? I'm trying to get the video heather to work, but no luck. So far I changed the heather <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=0.3"/> so it's at least widescreen, but none of the cool effex are working Smiley Sad
