Online store vs website
I'm so confused. Until yesterday I did not have a square online account OR a square website. I started creating the website and have run into countless problems. I created category pages that cannot be renamed or deleted on the site editor. I think I read somewhere that if you have your website linked to an online store template, then you cannot delete or rename categories, but I still don't understand how I can fix my problem knowing this. Also, if you create categories in the online store they have nothing to do with those created on the website. Is the online store different than the website?Why are my items created in both places, but not my categories? And why are there drop down arrows on the item list in the online store that show my item and when I click the arrow it shows my item again indented? Though this hasn't happened for two of my items. Why can't I change the name of a category page?

After talking with customer service, I think I might be okay now. I was trying to create everything from the web editor on the front end and I realize now I should be building everything on the back end.

What does that mean, front end /back end? I have the same problem but still have no idea how to solve it.

Try clicking on "items" & then on "categories" to change the names/etc. You will need to create matching page names to categories - strange but it makes sense later when you add product to the categories. It took me a while but after clicking around everywhere I now know "a lot" more than I did & I love this platform. Just be patient & go through all the buttons to figure out where all the stuff is. Everything "auto saves" so you can move between pages & categories before doing a final publish at the end when you're ready. Hope this helps.
