My website editor won't open either. It seems to hang while opening or not at all--sometimes with a brief error message of "Weebly not responding due to long running script". This happens in Firefox & IE browsers but only on my laptop. Support said Weebly Editor no longer works with anything less than Windows 10 operating systems. Obviously not the case.

The issue isn't really OS version so much as browser version. You can use Windows 8 and 7, although you might have trouble with older versions of Internet Explorer.
Do you have any browser add-ons or extensions installed in FireFox? If so, can you try disabling those?

So the Weebly CS rep. who said it was because I was not using Windows 10 & if I did not take his advise he would have to hang up was wrong? Hmm Apparently some of Weebly's Customer Service agents are not too well trained--or mature.
Yes, I have tried with add ons disabled. I have the most updated version of the browsers I am using. I also have tried using compatibilty modes for Weebly's website. I have searched for malware with 4 different programs, antivirus system scans, plug ins disabled, etc. Nope not that. The issue occurs on multiple browsers with multiple computers with just this Weebly website editor. This issue occurrs with many other users intermittently as well. One day it works another day it doesn't. One minute it works & another minute it does not. I have not been able to drag & drop an image for months. Nothing is changing on our end so its probably a safe assumption this something has on your end. I see this issue come up frequently & people think it is fixed when it goes away, but it is an intermittent problem so it comes back.

What kind of internet connection are you using? If it's sporadic it might be some kind of network problem.

Hey, I have the same problem as everyone else on this thread.
- I've tried Explorer, Chrome and Safari. I've even tried Windows and MAC OS. None work.
- I've disabled all extensions / add ons. Still nothing.
- I've tried different Weebly log ins. None of them can load the editor.
- Every single internet page / email client / streaming site / app etc loads fine. It's not my connection.
So...what else can you suggest?
It really does look like an issue your end.
This is the first time i've used Weebly. I won't be around long if it's like this. Never had a problem with your competitors.

I have the same problem. Support says they have no answers. I can open in Edit Mode using Edge, Vivaldi, and Epic browsers. Chrome, Firefox, and Opera will not open in Edit. All work in Viewing Mode. Those that don't work, show a
very short blink and then are done and show a totally blank, dark screen with no elements or anything else showing except for the menu bar and items. I can open in Edit mode on my laptop in all Browsers. Both have the same Windows 10 system, updated as of today, both have Webroot with a clean scan today, both have Malwarebytes with a clean scan today.
I would suggest that Support might want to "get on the Stick" and work this out. It appears that one heck of a lot of Users are having this problem.

Do you have any additional software installed on your desktop which isn't installed on your laptop? In particular, anything that has browser extensions or plugins with it.

Of course I do: I don't use my laptop on a daily basis and have a lot of software on my main computer that is not on the laptop. Why should that make a difference?

I'm wondering if one of them is interfering with the editor, since it's happened before for some people. Usually it's an ad blocker, popup blocker, or something like that.

That version of OS X is pretty old (mac OS 10.13 came out a few weeks ago), though it should have worked fine with Windows 10. I opened one of the sites in your account and didn't have trouble, @DavidZ. What happens when you try to open your site?

Can you try again, @Carol1? We resolved some issues that cropped up this morning so it should be working much better now.

We're not having any trouble right now, @stanglaser. Can you try quitting your browser and restarting your computer to see if that helps?

Weebly editor does this often. I'm going on the third day this week of it not loading. It often happens after a Microsoft update, which we had last Thursday. Surpriseeeee! After it was over, I opened Weebly, got into the first site, and the pages editor wouldn't load. Tried several other sites I work with, and they all did the same thing.
Sometimes Weebly works great, but the frequency of the stalled editor issue is becoming worse and worse. I've used Weebly for about five years now and referred many other writers and bloggers to them, as well as other businesses who wanted to have an easy-to-use website, but as it is, I can't recommend Weebly any longer.
