Issues with displaying image from the gallery on smartphones

Dear community,
I am faced with a tiring problem, and would be massively grateful for just a short hint on how to proceed.
The situation is that I am the editor of a website that presents a variety of material - including artwork and photography series.

However lately I have discovered that the way the standard Weebly gallery displays image series on Smartphones has some significant limitations.

The three main problems I find are that

  • it is inconvenient to enlarge the images;
  • there is a very large white frame around each image that the images can "disappear" into if you accidentally scroll in the wrong manner;
  • that you often accidentally flicker between images even when you don't intend to;

So far I have not found an app in the app center that has worked, and I will instead try to use a third party embedding service to work this out. (I started by trying to use Google Photos together with some extra codes to embed these series on the website, but then the huge problem I discovered was that it is not possible to sort files by file name in
Google Photos. (!) ) Since both the artwork and the photography series always tell a story, the sequence is absolutely essential and hence I will have to abandon this option...

So, sorry for a long introduction and thanks for staying with me. What I wonder is simply: Could anyone please kindly recommend a solution for an online image gallery function that works well on Smartphones and that could be embedded on a Weebly site; it does not need to be free, even if that is preferable of course. I don't understand that this is so difficult to work out and wonder if people with more experience could perhaps easily point out an obvious solution that I, the Newbie, am missing...?

@Mickey_Mouse if you are familiar with html/css and other stuff there are many gallery tutorials on the web.  Many come with free code that you can embed in weebly.  You will just have to do a search and look at the demo they provide.

Heere is something I did long tme ago

@Mickey_Mouse A site url and/or some screenshots of the image gallery behavior on your smartphone would be helpful. Outside of that, it's very difficult to understand exactly the issue you're having with the image gallery element on mobile viewports. The Weebly image gallery can be (with a little css) made to present images in near full screen width mode as I describe in this post:

Regarding the white frame around images, perhaps you are referring to the spacing between images? This can be adjusted to zero if you wish via the image gallery attributes settings. Can't say I understand what you mean by images vanishing into the white space.

Dear @bobafett  and @PaulMathews,

My gratitude for that you are taking the time to answer this.

And sorry for the delay in my response. I have not been able to attend to this lately, and I hope I have not completely exhausted your energy.

So this is the gallery I am trying to view. And the device I am using is an iPhone 6; Software version 12.5.4.

https://www.openthesky.co.uk/finally-found.html

This image series is meant to tell a story, so hence my wish is that visitors can easily "flick" between the images.

My gratitude for your attention!

Nevertheless, this is how it works for me on this iPhone:

image

Here I am starting on image no 1 in the series, and the text is hard to read so I try to enlargen it by draging with two fingers in the opposite direction.

image

which accidentially causes the gallery to move to image no 2, and also the X for closing the gallery ends up covering the image.

image

Here I tried to turn over the entire device to get the gallery in landscape. And the image unfortunately got even smaller.

Following below are various attempts, mainly at double clicking, and other things as well:

@Mickey_Mouse .  I have no idea what you are talking about.  They look fine on my cell.  As I mentioned earlier unless you know css/html changing the default gallery on weebly would be rather difficult....In general image gallery/slideshows on cell are bad anyway.
