Seriously Buggy Text Links
I can't believe after all this time the creating links from a bulleted text to standard pages are THIS buggy!
In trying to create links in a bulleted text list, duplicate non-linked text pops up after or before the actual word or words that I'm linking, which I then have to delete.
Example:
- THIS IS BULLETED TEXTTHIS IS BULLETED TEXT
Another bug is that If I'm linking back to a standard page ON that actual page, the link refuses to show in uppercase, essential for my design. I actually have to copy this section to a different page, fix it and copy it back as a work around (I havent even tried that yet.) I'm so **bleep** frustrated with Weebly's constant bugs. Very disappointing.
Exaple (creating a link to the "About" page while ON the "About" page) looks like this:
- AboutABOUT

Actually a faster fix was to place my cursor after the "A" in the "About" link and just type in the "BOUT".

@AspiringDana First, I'd ensure that your browser is up to date. Next, clear the cache. Finally, when you highlight text to create a link, keep your eye on the highlighted text after the link dialog box pops up. It is sometimes the case that the highlight is lost when the dialog launches. If that happens, close the dialog and try again. It usually bites the second time around. It's just one of those occasional Weebly weirdisms.

Thanks for that info. While I can accept the "clear the cache" option, what I guess I just can't believe is that Weebly, after all these many years hasn't resolved the "weirdism" as you put it. I'd say it's a bug, plain and simple!

@AspiringDana Okay, it's a bug but it's quite infrequent. I haven't personally encountered this particular bug in many, many months and I manage quite a significant number of Weebly-based client sites. I use multiple web hosting/cms platforms for custom client projects and every single one has its own quirks and occasionally wierd behavior. This particular issue is at best a minor irritant and, if I were a Weebly dev, it wouldn't make my top 20 list of things to address on the platform. Of course if this particular bug bothers you excessively, I'd suggest you give Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress a go.

I agree with you 100% and yes, it's a "minor irritant," but one that's been around for many years.
I set up a weebly site because I could get it done ASAP, which was my 1st priority. I didn't bother shopping the other providers you mentioned because I'd used Weebly before to create other websites and just didn't have the time. Weebly now has my $$$ so that's that for now at least.

I have noticed over the years a strange issue that sometimes arises when highlighting the text to use as the link - selecting the text by clicking on the end at the right and dragging to the left does indeed cause issues that you've mentioned - click on the left and select to the right and it is much more stable!! I have also noted some issues that used to arise when I tried to highlight text that had been copied and pasted direct from MSWord docs as Word used to carry over some really hidden formatting that would cause some weird issues at times - I think that was Office 2007.

Yes! I have also seen more stability when dragging to highlight from L to R rather than the opposite, but still, plenty of problems. It's been forever since Weebly was invented and I can't believe these kinks haven't been worked out YET!
