How to upload image for use with custom HTML code

Hi all

I have a page on weebly where I added a simple table I've created using an HTML editor. In the table, I have some small icons. Total of three. I simply need to know how to do two things:

1. How do I upload the images? (They aren't used on any other pages in the site)

2. How do I reference them once uploaded? The HTML code simply "looks" for the image in the same location as the page the table is on.

advTHANKSance for any info! Rick Smiley Happy

Okay, so I think I've found something that kind of works.

I added one of the images to the page. Published. Then viewed the source of the page. Noted the full path to the image. It was something like this:

http://www.umskc.com/uploads/1/0/5/9/105925283/electrical_orig.png

Then edited the HTML so that my image tag used that path as the reference.

Then I changed the image to the next image. Rinse and repeat until all three were referenced.

Here's the wierd part. I deleted the image from the other part of the page and ALL the three images disappeared. But as long as one of them is on the page, all three of them are presented. Strange, eh?

Maybe this will help someone else down the line.

Hmm that is strange that deleting all but one makes them all show. Did you publish after deleting? I know sometimes people will add their images to a hidden page in order to create an og image tag for social media posts. I'm sure you could do the same thing and can grab the image url by going to your live site and replacing the page name in the url with your hidden page name.

Hi there

Thanks for the tip. So, it sounds to me like the "proper" way to have done this was to add my images to a page, but then "hide" the page?

I'm a bit confused by what you mean with "og" page. What is that?

An OG tag is an open graph meta tag, something used by social media networks when they look for images to use with a share.

There are atually a bunch of different kinds, and they're pretty much a lot like the regular meta tags that Google uses for search indexing.

Hi I just wanted to add my two cents! We use hidden pages (we hide from the navigation, password protect, as well as set up the SEO to hide from search engines) Then I upload all the images. The problem I have is having to upload images one at a time - it is so time consuming. We started using a lot of custom code and simply use Weebly for it's amazing responsive framework and design. It has been very useful for learning coding and being able to hack the Theme is FANTASTIC. I guess my next question is if I can simply upload the images as assets and call them? Maybe worth a shot.
