Creating a Google Calendar API for my website

Hello,

I currently have my Google Calendar on my webpage by embedding HTML code.  I want something that looks more refined, but the third-party apps are too expensive.  It seems that Weebly has nothing built-in here to create an events page, so to me it seems like the solution is a Google API.  Is there a preferred language to work with when creating the API for a Weebly site?  It seems like Java should work, but from a coding standpoint it seems like learning to write this in Python may be faster.  I have other reasons that make Python more enticing to learn as well, but not if I cannot use it at all.  Can I do this in any language?

Hopefully this is clear.  Thank you for any help you can provide.

Josh

Since you can't run any server side language with Weebly I would do it with Javascript.
