Contact Form Subject

Is there are way to set the contact form to contact a unique subject for each submission..instead of just new website submission?

For example name: Website submission and then name?

Much easier to be able to forward, view and more.

You can choose a name for the form when setting it up, but we do not have variable subject headings unless you create a subject field for the form. If you need different customization that you feel our Weebly element doesn't offer, check out the App Center, or use our Embed Code element for a third party form of your choice.

Sorry for the confusion, @drinkablearts. What Brodie meant was you could add a text field to the form and call it "subject". It might be simplest to change the name of the form to what you want the subject to be.

Oddly the name of the form subject changes depending on the language the user has on their machine. We get:

Eingang eines neuen Anmeldeformulars: Enquiries to info@xxxxx.xx

New Form Entry: Enquiries to info@xxxxx.xx

Nouvelle entrée de formulaire :Enquiries to info@xxxxx.xx

etc.etc...

Interesting... I wasn't aware that our translations also would change that.

I am recieveing a good number of form submissions at the moment and would LOVE for there to be an option for the person filling out the form to be able to put a "subject" in which then becomes the subject bar of the email you recieve.

I am getting incredubly confued as all of my form submissions in my email accound have the same subject and load up under one thread.

Did you name your form? When you are in the editor you will need to click on the contact form element on your page. You should see a blue button that says Form Options. The first field probably says "Contact Form" but you can change that to whatever you like. It will show up in your email like this:

You can change every form name on your site, but let me know if this is not what you are talking about. Smiley Happy

What is required is an option for each EMail received from a Contact Form to have its own Subject:

New Form Entry: <Subject entered on the form by the customer>

rather than a generic EMail subject that is identical for every form submission from that form.

Hi @AlanM9 That is not an  option at this time, but you are more than welcome to submit as a feature request: https://community.weebly.com/t5/Vote-on-Features/idb-p/IdeaExchange

That's very disappointing as it was available on my previous rather old application and it seems like a major step backwards in terms of end users.

I've submitted it as a new idea on:

Thanks for doing that, Alan. I'm sure there are other users on here that would find that useful!

The feature still hasn't been added. It seems like a basic functionality that every contact form solution should have.

I'm using Gmail to manage my business emails and when I receive 10 enquiries the same day through the contact form, they all appear under the same thread which is really anoying. Each new entry should have a unique subject so they can be differenciated.

It's really disappointing that since this topic has been open in 2019, nothing has changed...
