Blurry Images

Hello,

I am very disappointed with the image quality on my website. I have tried jpeg and png and it doesn't make a difference. Image quality is very important to me and you can see how terrible the quality is when compared to when you click on the image.

I am paying a lot of money for a plan and I should not have to deal with bad image quality.

How can I fix this?

After uploading your image, are you resizing the image in the editor at all, @schneiderjess?

Yes I am resizing them, but I should be able to do that without losing image quality.

I agree with you, although I know that resizing them within the editor will cause some additional image processing. You might be able to make them appear visually smaller with spacers to the left and right; this will make it shrink to fit in column not actually convert the image.

This does keep the image quality consistant. I wouldn't normally mind doing these extra steps, however this site takes forever to load if I want to add in a spacer or a "hide" element. Adding or modifying one element always takes around 30 seconds. I just modified 2 of my pictures to this new layout and it took 20 minutes for everything to load, when this normally should have taken 1-2 minutes. My computer does not have a difficult time processing large softwares. I am an engineer so I always have high-level CAD programs and coding programs running (I bought a durable computer for this reason), so this is a software error with your website. Is there any quicker way to do this? I would really like to avoid adding an extra 2+ hours for the creation of each blog post just to keep up with the image quality that I already have. Again, I am paying a lot of money to use this website and really should not have to deal with simple issues such as these.

And when I say 30 seconds to add or modify, I'm saying this is how long the loading icon is displaying, so I am just waiting for 30 seconds after I add a simple element to my page.

Do you have a lot of app elements on the page? I have seen pages on sites in the past that would take a long time to load because of the number of app elements on a page.

Like @schneiderjess, all my images become blurry on resizing. The only viable workaround is creation of multiple spacers around the image. This is ridiculous for the amount of money people pay for Weebly's service, it's actually disappointing.

I hope this becomes a top priority for your engineers to fix considering how basic this ought to be.

Same with me. I hope they fix the re-sizing issues and stop the blurriness. Using spacers all around my gallery takes forever!

This makes a photographer look so bad!

As with everyone else, I'm having the same issue with my pictures. I've tried jpeg, png, GIF, 700x700 thru 4200x4200, all at 72 dpi, resizing, not resizing. It doesn't work, and as with others, this reflects poorly on me. Is there anything new to try? Incredibly frustrating.

Hi everyone,
I came up with a solution! Regular photo (rectangle) kept being blurry, despite all others (square) being good. I opened the photo separate to the blurry image on weebly, opened it to the same size as the blurry one and cut it via 'grab' on mac, saved it as jpeg, reuploaded it into weebly and it's perfect!

Thanks for sharing that solution, @va34235!

I suggest Weebly posts his image resizing, processing script & classes so the community can

fix it themselves.

I have the same problem. This is a reason for me to never use Weebly again. Weebly should not automatically mess with the picture sharpness!
