Unwanted spacers
New weebly user here. I fell into the "unwanted spacers" pit today.
As far as I can tell, (on my machine at least) there is *no* way to delete them through the normal weebly edit interface. Highlighting one and then clicking on the red X doesn't actually make it go away. And although it seems they'll go away if you delete the upright dividing lines between them, there is no way to select a divider line so you can get to a red X and delete the line. (Really, there isn't. I tried.)
But after rummaging around, I did find a way out.
- Hold down the Control (CTRL) key and click on the section in question.
- From the pop-up menu, select Inspect. This will display a window that shows the underlying code.
- As you move your cursor over the lines of code, the associated web page element will be highlighted.
- I found lines that looked like this:
<div class="wsite-multicol-divider" style="left: 106px;"></div>
that when selected highlighted the upright divider line on the web page.
- When I deleted those lines, the dividers and their associated spacers went away.
(Sorry, I forgot to note what exactly I did to delete them.
It involved collapsing that section of code and deleting the whole section.)
- Then to close the code window, just click on the X at the upper right of that code window.
This might not help everyone, but for those that aren't averse to looking at the underlying code, it might prove useful.

Foo. My brilliant solution seems to not be permanent. When I go back to that page, it has reverted to containing the unwanted upright lines and spacers. Anyone out there know why?

Hm.. you should be able to click the vertical divider to delete the row of spacers. What is the name of the site you are editing, and the name of the page with the unwanted spaces?

Hi!
Thanks for being willing to take a look at this. The main page is at 1415yesno.weebly.com, and the page with the spacers that won't go away is 1415yesno.weebly.com/blog---tripp-lite-surge-protectors. I'm working in Google Chrome version 88.0.4324.150 (Official Build) (x86_64), on an iMac running macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6 (17G14019).
As long as you're taking a look at it, I've got a few other "newbie" questions.
1. If I click on the header section, I see "Edit background", "Replace header layout", and a round handle that I can use to drag up or down to resize. But spacer issues aside, it seems I can only drag up so far. On the General Pencil page, for example, it leaves more vertical space than I'd like. Is there any way to further shrink the height of the header section?
2. Why do my blog pages have a faint message that says, "You don't have any blog posts". I thought I had created a blog entry page. I clicked on Pages at the top, then on "+", then selected Blog Page. What am I missing?
3. In addition to the pesky message about not having any blog posts, the 3 Bloggons cards I put on the main page aren't picking up the blog entries. I understand that I need to click on the card, and then add the page's address. I tried adding the address as shown on the published site (navigating to that page from the Home page), but that didn't give me the right result. When I'm working in the Weebly editor and go to the blog page, the address shows as www.weebly.com /editor/main.php# /myapps for every one of my blog pages, so I'm not sure how that would distinguish between the various different blog pages.
4. Thinking about Bloggons cards, I remember that I've been having trouble getting an image to display at the top of the card. I read that in order to display correctly, the image needs to be at the top of the page. But putting it in the header section doesn't appear to be doing the trick. Above the header section? Or maybe the problem is with the page not being recognized as a blog entry? At one point I was able to see some of my blog entries on the Home page, but the image section on the card on the Home page was a solid blue. (And then I did something that made the cards not show up on the live site at all. Grr.)
5. Finally, why is there a huge blinking cursor line that runs down alongside everything below the header section on the Tripp Lite surge protector page?
I guess that's enough for now. I'm sure I'll have more questions after I fall off the next web site creation cliff. TIA for any light you can shed on these things for me.
P.S. Cute giraffe!

I was able to delete the row of spacers for you by clicking on one of the divider lines in the row.
1. You can hold the control or command button on your keyboard when you are dragging the header size to make it go smaller, but I would recommend leaving it at the size you have now.
2. You have created a blog page, but have not made an actual blog post. Navigate to your blog page, then click the New Post button in the bottom right corner to create your first blog post.
3. Bloggons will work properly once you start adding blog posts. Right now you just have standard elements on your blog page, and the app is not designed to read these. It will specifically pull content from a stand alone blog post.
4. Same as number 3. I think once you start adding blog posts you will see the Bloggons app in action.
5. Hmm.. I don't see a blinking cursor line on the Tripp Lite page. Can you post a screenshot?
Thanks, and thanks!

Thank you! I'm still baffled as to why you can select & delete the upright lines, and I can't, but as long as that's solved on that page, I'll try to avoid maneuvers that cause them again.
And now that I know how to actually make blog posts, that'll keep me busy for awhile. Will get back to you on the ginormous cursor on down the line. Got blog posts to make now!

So, regarding my second question, about blog posts, does this mean that I've created 4 or 5 *blogs*, rather than 4 or 5 blog "posts"?

Hi @zenmom101. I actually see both - you have more than one blog page, and on your "blog - Oxo" page you have multiple blog posts (the other blog pages do not have any posts yet).
