How do I change my email address when it says "This email address is already in use"?

As per title. I've deactivated the webpage (webpage #1) that was originally tied to email address #1.

I want to change the email for webpage #2 to email address #1. It's been 24+hrs since the deactivation of webpage #1, but I am still getting the message "This email address is already in use by another account." and cannot apply it to webpage account #2.

Thanks in advance!

Deactivating an account won't free up the email address used for the account so that the account can be reactivated if needed. Here's what I would do. Enter the email address in our password reset form, then use that to log in (this reactivates the account). Once you're logged in, go to the account management page and change the email address on the account to something else. Log out or deactivate the account again, then log into the other account and change the email address do the one you just freed up.
