HTML5 code for embedding animation

Hi there,

Would anybody please be able to share the HTML5 code for embedding an animation (I have MP4 but can convert to whatever is required) in Weebly?

Also, where do I upload the source files?  I tried adding them to my theme, but not sure how I find the correct pathway.

This is all very new to me, but i'm quite determined to learn.

Thank you in advance.

Any files you upload to the "Assets" folder in your theme will have a file path like this:

mysiteaddress.com/files/theme/myfilename.extension

You should be able to add your video and any other file resources there, then edit your embed code to use that file path for each file.

I have an HTML5 set of files.  I can see where to upload them to ASSETS, but I can't figure out how to upload a whole folder structure.   It's a collection of files and folders.  I started re-creating the folder structure ... but it will take a long time.   Can I upload the whole directory of files and folders?

That's a good question, @joisey. I'm not super familiar with the process, but Adam should be back in a few days. Or maybe another user with more experience has input? Perhaps @bobafett

I'm having the same issue, I was wondering if you found a solution?

Anything uploaded to the Assets folder of a theme will have the path "/files/theme" on the live site. If you make a folder within the Assets folder, then it would be /files/theme/foldername". There isn't a way to upload a folder of files at once, so you'd need to do them individually. You also might need to update the HTML code of your widget to reflect the correct path for files that it uses.

Hi Adam, I'm struggling with this too. Hope you can help me. So I created the HTML5 animation and uploaded the images and js file in the assets, the code calls them up through the path /files/theme but there's also other script code above the body html. I tried putting that in the header of the page, but that doesn't work. It doesn't work in the embed code on the page either. Help? Thanks

Do you see any errors in the console when you load the page, @mwolda?
