Data Protection banners removed - WHY? No warning

@Adam ; @Bernadette

What happened to my GDPR banners to let users opt out. All set up in 2018, and now they have all disapeared. I am only finding out as I was checking the settings on one client site.

Why was there no warning. More to the point why has this happened?

I don't know how many times I have had to go back and fix sites when samall updates disrupt everything from header images to content. And no one ever lets us know.

Can't the developers make changes without upsetting the whole existing estate?

Who's paying for the time I need to take to fix these?

I have the same problem I think with a website I designed in 2016 or so. The logo and several other images are gone.

Tried to contact weebly regarding this by FB, they suggested I contacted support.

I'm not able to send a ticket to support, tried for 5 times to sent my request, but I get a red triangle, it doesn't send.

My client is waiting in the meantime for 5 days now. What is going on Weebly?

Looking again, as I try to fix this, I also see that the options have now gone.

The "helpful" advice in settings says: "Inform your site visitors that you're using cookies and allow them to opt out"

Question: how do they opt out? The origial banner had that - now I will have to direct to the Cookie policy page where they can do it.

But even if they say "OK" - where's the trigger for approving the banner, so it disappears.

Did anyone bother to think this thru before letting the developers loose? All they do is action what you tell them, even if it means overwriting existing code.

Need a fix, please, before I waste a lot of time.

Having vented my frustrations, I hit upon a quick solution. Just set up a note in my footer with links to Policy, and Opt-Out section, as desired.

Prefer pop-up; but can't have everything.
