New in Weebly: questions about html, buttons, apache, preview and other

Hello, I'm a beginner in Weebly and I would like to know some things before I start designing web sites:

1. Can I use html, css, or javascript code and if yes how can I do this? Do I have to write all of the code in one embed code element or there's a place where I can see the whole code.

2. Can I use the buttons to do something, or Weebly buttons only open links etc. Else, can I add <buttons> as html embed code and program them to do whatever I want?

3. Can I preview my site before I publish it?

4. Can I export the whole site after I finish it as files and uploaded from my computer via Apache to the internet? Or I have to uploaded it only through Weebly to a domain etc. Can I take the whole files?

Thanks a lot and sorry for my questions, I'm a total newbie in Weebly.

Hey @Pavlos_mplaksan!

1. HTML, CSS, and Javascript can all be included on pages of your site with the Embed Code element. You can also edit the code used for templates by clicking on "Edit HTML / CSS" on the Theme tab.

2. The button element is used to link to things (files, other pages, external sites, etc), although you could code one into an Embed Code element if you want one to do something else.

3. The editor itself acts as a preview since what you see there is what you'll see on your live site.

4. You can download an archive of your site and upload elsewhere, although some parts of the site are not included (like blog posts and store products) and some parts might not function. The archive is meant to be a backup than something to be uploaded.

@Pavlos_mplaksan:  I am not sure what you mean by,"4. Can I export the whole site after I finish it as files and uploaded from my computer via Apache to the internet? Or I have to uploaded it only through Weebly to a domain etc. Can I take the whole files?:

Do you mean to take those files and use it to publish site anywhere, the answer most likely is no.  You need a hosting from Weebly.

so there isn't any way to upload the site from my computer via Apache? I have necessarily to upload it via Weebly? I want my site to be uploaded only some times and give the link to some people and some times I want it to be down.

You could download and upload somewhere else, but not to Weebly, no.
