Hello!

It is not possible to move a site to an existing account. However, you do have the following options:

  1. With some site types we can move a single site into a brand new account using an email address not in use by another acount. Contact our support team and they can over the process and verify if the site can be moved.
  2. You can rebuild the site in the new account.
  3. Use the editors option to invite the another person to edit the site. That option can be found in Settings > Editors within the classic Weebly website editor. If you have a Square Online site, you can currently do this by using Square team management , setting up someone as a staff member, then giving them permissions access to your online store.

That is correct, @regankd For our older editor/sites, we can move an existing site into a brand new account that we create on the backend. If you submit a ticket to support, a rep can go over your options and complete the move for you. You can submit a ticket from the bottom of our Help Center

Hello,

I need to copy my website to another account creating two different websites/accounts, is it feasible? If yes, who can support my request?

Thank you

Hello Weebly,

We are a council of the Knights of Columbus. Our sister council St. Mary's www.kofc8600.org is a Weebly account. they recommended we use you as they are. We would like to use their template to add our content. Is that possible?

I can approval from them if that is required. Please let me know as I need to stand up our site as soon as possible.

Hi Adam,

I've come across this post and would like to know more about this function. Would you be able to provide a step by step guide?

Similarly, I also noticed there is no longer a "copy" option but instead a "duplicate" option. Can I confirm that these two represents the same thing?

After duplicating the site, may I know what are the next steps to "paste" the copied site into a new account?

Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!

Hi @Nikita_

Where do you see that it says "duplicate" instead of "copy site"? It sounds like either option would perform the same action, however, my account still says "copy site". 🤔 It may be helpful to also post a screenshot.

Regarding the site move; you would need to reach out to the support team for assistance. It's not possible to move a site into an active Weebly account. The support team would need to move the site into a brand new account that they create on the backend.

You can reach the team by scrolling to the bottom of our Help Center and clicking the contact us button. Once you see the automated chat window try typing something like "speak with a rep" to be directed to the teams available to your account.

Hello,

I've been practicing with my first website using weebly, but now I'd like to use what I've built and duplicate it with a different name.  Can I do this?  I found the copy button, but couldn't work out where or how to paste it?

When you click on the copy option for the site, it will duplicate the site within your account automatically. You don't need to actually do anything else beyond clicking the link.

have 1 website with Weebly and I have another website/domain with Hostgator. I'd like to copy my existing website (basically mirror it) and put it with the Weebly one.  How do I do this?  Please note I do not want to transfer domains.  I just want to copy an existing website for my Weebly one.

There really isn't any way to directly copy the site from HostGator to Weebly, so you'd have to rebuild it within our editor.  Sorry we don't have a better way!

Hi, I have a problem with my account. I can log into the Weebly app, and website it there. When I try to log into the website version, it says the account does not exist. When I try to reset my password with the app, it doesn't send the email with the link to reset the password, which indicates that Weebly doesn't think it exists. All I am trying to do is either transfer the website or change the email because I sign up using school Gmail account, which eventually, I won't have access to because I have graduated.

Hey Adam,

Reading this thread, I know this sounds sort of redundant, but I have a similar question with a twist. I am currently hosting a site on Weebly. I was to transfer the hosting to Bluehost, still using Weebly and the same domain name, but I don't want to have to rebuild. Can your technical team facilitate that?

Thank you,

Anu.

Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to transfer your site to BlueHost to use with the licensed version of Weebly they use. Sorry! Smiley Sad

I'd like to create multilingual web-site (actually I created two websites like language1.weebly.com and language2.weebly.com).

First question: Is it correct way of creating multilingual websites?

Second question: I created full content of website language1.weebly.com, now I want to copy whole site language1.weebly.com to another website language2.weebly.com and translate it afterwards. I would not like to re-create second site from scratch, it's too tedious.

How can I do that? That is - to copy site to another existing site?

Hello! You can certainly do that, though there are also options in the App Center to more easily create translation options on a single site.

If you'd like to copy the site, you can do so from your dashboard, by clicking the drop-down button by the site name.

Another Bluehost question... I created my first Weebly site in BH.  I want to create a second site very similar to the first with just a few text and image changes.  But I don't have or can't find a dashboard to make the copy.  Is there a way to copy the first site into a second directory/domain, both being hosted by BH and designed by Weebly?

I'm not sure if that's a feature BlueHost includes or not, @JayMoeD. You might have better luck contacting BlueHost to see if they offer that with the editor.

Thanks for getting back to me @Adam... unfortunately BlueHost suggests I contact Weebly.

Really sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, we do not have access to the account and they should be able to provide support for you. Did they at least give you a reason why they couldn't help?
