Renew expired domain
Hi, I let my domain expire by accident, and am now trying to renew it. I'm getting a message saying it can't be done automatically and need to contact weebly support.
I'm most concerned about some of the pdfs and content I have 'stored' on the site which I'd like to retrieve.
Can anyone help?
Thanks! Holly

Hey Holly!
To renew your domain, click on your name at the top of your dashboard, then choose Account. On the page that loads, choose My Services, then click on Extend underneath your domain service.
Regarding your files you can get access to that by exporting your site archive. To do that, open your site in the editor, go to the Settings tab and use the option at the bottom of the page.

Hi,
The problem is that when I do that, and then attempt to pay, I get an error message saying:
'Your domain has expired and cannot be renewed automatically. Please contact [email protected] to reactivate your domain.'
So that's what I'm doing
If you could help that would be great.
Thanks, Holly

Hey @Louise! Can you go to this page of your account:
https://www.weebly.com/home/account/services
Once there, click on "Extend" underneath your domain name and enter billing information, then complete the purchase?

I already tried to complete my biling information and click on "extend" but everytime I do that, and then attempt to pay, I get the message saying: 'Your domain has expired and cannot be renewed automatically.'
I can't neither enter my biling information nor pay for the extension of the domain name...

Hello Louise! In a case like that, you'd want to speak to support directly through hc.weebly.com, as they'll be able to go through the necessary steps there.

It looks like your domain is in a state called "redemption (RGP). Renewing a domain from this state is different than when it's simply expired, and you'll need to contact our support team for instructions on how to do that:

Hello dojoTIA! In that case, you'll need to contact support directly, which you can do through hc.weebly.com. You'll want to do that as soon as possible, so that we can set the domain right for you.

Try removing and adding your card again, @Puja, and making sure that all of the information for it is accurate. You can manage payment methods by clicking on your name at the top of your dashboard, choosing "Account", then clicking on "Payment Methods".

This is because your domain is a state called "Redemption", which requires different steps to renew. If you haven't done so yet, please contact our support team so they can go over the renewal process with domains in redemption.
