Hi,

I want to find the ip address for both of these websites:

techtipsmega.weebly.com

mostafamusads-lab.weebly.com

It would be nice if you could help me out.

Thanks in advance!

I've made a new post to our Domains board with instructions on how to find the IP address you need for your domain.

If you could tell me mine I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to connect straitandberg.com from godaddy to my weebly account.

Is the only way to find your IP address to ask on a forum??

Ok, I'm confused. There are 2 different sets of instructions on how to point my domain (straitandberg.com -registered on godaddy) to my site I created on Weebly.

#1

"I made a website using Weebly and would like to use mydomain.com there. I need to change the A-Records for both "www" and my root domain to point to (insert IP address you obtained in the previous step)"

#2

"Hello, I have purchased my domain from you. I have built my website on Weebly.com. I need you to point my domain to the following IP:

1. The root of my domain: 199.34.228.77
2. www: 199.34.228.77"

Am I supposed to edit the DNS to the .77 as in #2 or .46 which is what I've been told is my IP address? I've tried both and neither seems to be working. What am I missing? Thanks!

#1 is what you want to follow using the IP address that @Bernadette gave you (199.34.228.46). Our of curiosity, where did you see #2?

Adam,

The language I posted for #2 comes from Settings > Change Site Address > connect your domain > Email instructions to your domain registrar and it says:

"Hello, I have purchased my domain from you. I have built my website on Weebly.com. I need you to point my domain to the following IP:

1. The root of my domain: 199.34.228.77
2. www: 199.34.228.77

This is done by changing my domain's A-Records. I am not requesting that you transfer my domain, redirect my domain, or change my name servers. I want to remain with you as my domain registrar.
For more detailed information please see https://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/201372693-How-to-Use-a-Domain-You-Purchased-Elsewhere . "

Thanks for your help!

Ahh, thanks! Unusual that it was displaying a different IP address, although either one should work. If you haven't made the change yet I would use the .77 IP, but if you have already used the other one I wouldn't worry about changing it to that.

So, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but...I've been in contact with GoDaddy and they said everything is set up right on their end but the site still isn't pulling up. What's my next step??

Thanks for posting, @tiffz. How long ago did GoDaddy make the changes? It can take 24 to 48 hours for DNS changes to fully propagate, so it can sometimes take a little longer to work. When I check your domain it loads your Weebly site for me, though.
