Error while trying to purchase domain name

Hi all,

A few days ago I decided to upgrade my plan and register a domain name to make my website official.

So I purchased a 6 month plan and attempted to take advantage of the free year of registration.

I entered all my payment details and hit submit, however I was met with the following error:

Naturally, I thought to myself that I would refresh and start the process again in the hope that it was just a once off. Unfortunately that was not the case and received the same error again.

Thinking it might be some kind of communication error from my home internet I decided to try on a mobile connection from my ipad. However the same again (total of 4 attempts)

Little did I know, that while I was getting this error and my domain was not registered, my credit card was still being charged for every attempt (4x charges of $27.06)

I've submitted an email support ticket as I could not find a number to call or live chat option. This was almost 48 hours ago and still have not had a response. So I turn to the community as to where I should go next as I'm worried the domain name I want will be taken by the time I hear back from my support ticket, and I'm obviously wanting 3 of those 4 payments returned to my account.

Thank you for your help.

I've just had a look through my order history and it shows that all 4 payments have been refunded:

Unfortunately they have not landed in my account which the below statement from my bank shows that the charge has been taken the day after it was apparently refunded.

Hey @Afterpartyent!

Sorry for the trouble with this.  Because the charges were refunded on the same day they were charged, they're actually voids rather than refunds.  What this means is that those pending charges will never complete and will drop off your statement without posting.

Regarding your original issue, there's currently a problem at our Registrar with purchasing .com.au domain names.  Our Registrar is working on fixing this issue, and once they do you'll be able to purchase the domain successfully.  Thanks for your patience while they work on fixing that!

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your response. Does this mean that the funds will automatically return to my account? As I haven't received them as of yet.

Also is there a rough time frame on when this issue will be fixed?

Regards.

Hello @Afterpartyent

At this time, we do not have an estimated time of completion. We certainly hope it will be ASAP though. 😃

Thanks for your response, is there somewhere I can keep an eye on that I'll be updated when the issue is resolved?

Hi @NickyLimes

Do we have an update on my original issue? I am eager to register my domain. If not is there somewhere I can keep an eye on to be notified when the issue is rectified?

Thanks.

Hello @Afterpartyent

We are still working on the .au domain registration errors.  We are in progress trying to resolve this issue at this time so you will not yet be able to register the com.au domain name. I can issue a refund of the starter plan until this issue is resolved and you can sign up again after it is fixed if you would like?

Hi @NickyLimes

That would be fantastic if you could do that, thank you.

I have a similar issue with a ticket in progress (3571228) and still no news.

I'm trying to unlock the registar and change server names through your interface so  Ican manage the DNS propagation myself. Even the online tools to do so don't work, I get error messages. Is there something you can do about it ?

I bought the domain name through weebly the 15th of june, we are the 22th and my site is still offline, it's getting lame...

Hello @nsom

Your escalation ticket is in progress and they are working to have this resolved ASAP. They answer tickets in the order they are received and they also can take longer depending on the difficulty of the error created. Since this is an international domain registration error I am going to guess that we are likely waiting to hear from someone internationally about the error. This is only a guess of course, but it would make sense.

Can you update me on why it blocked ? If you can transfer the domain to me  I could handle the DNS propagation myself ?

Hello @nsom

I do not know if it is blocked. All I see is the same errors as you and it seems like something may have gone wrong during the registration process.  I do not have any further information and this issue is being handled by the professionals within that specific department.
