.CO.UK domain pointing/hosting and affects on SEO.

Hello, I am in need of a little help. The answers to this question will basically decide whether I continue to use Weebly or not. I just signed up for the pro plan a few days ago and have regrettably only just discovered that transferring .co.uk domains is not possible.

My current .co.uk which I have used for many years is currently with webs.com and has over 1 year left on it.

First of all I would like to know how I would go about using that .co.uk domain with my Weebly website.. I need to point it or something right? My weebly site is currently using a .com which I recieved inclusive with my pro package.

Secondly, I would like to know how my domain would appear on my website address bar?  Will the domain always show as my .co.uk when my visitors use it? or will it change to my .com once they arrive? (I had a similar issue years ago where my visitors would use the .co.uk link but then the address bar would show the other registered domain which was a .com)

Lastly, with my .co.uk domain not be hosted by Weebly, how will this affect my current and future SEO efforts?

Thanks in advance.

If your .co.uk domain is already indexed with Google, it would make sense to point the domain to us like shown in our guide here:

http://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/201372693-How-to-Use-a-Domain-You-Purchased-Elsewhere

You'll be able to publish your site using the .co.uk as the address so you're maximizing the SEO you've already go. You can also then simply forward your .com domain to your .co.uk domain, so they both load your site.

With the steps above, your .co.uk domain name will be shown in the address bar. You can also do the reverse of this if you want, and use the .com domain as your site address (no DNS configuration needed) and simply forward your .co.uk domain name to your .com.

Thank you Adam, Your knowlege and assitance is greatly appreciated.

I actully found that guide you linked after I started this thread and have undertaken the tasks required.

I do not want to use the .com address at all. I only want to use our .co.uk address.

I followed that guide and the results are on the image below. I did this 4 days ago but still no change. Is it normal to wait this long? Or is it possible that I did something wrong?

Also webs do not allow you to use (www & *) for the hostname so I used the alternative suggested by the guide you linked to me. -  I can not contact webs.com for assistence due to my premium subscrition being cancelled. -

Those are correct, and when I check your domain it's loading a Weebly 404. Looks like all you need to do now is use the domain as your site address on the Settings tab and re-publish.
