'create a link' button not working?
Hello.
I'm going mad trying to create some links to other websites. I've had no trouble in the past- just highlight the text, press the 'create a link button', type in the URL and away you go. Today however when i click the button nothing happens. The box to add the URL doesn't come up.

Sorry to hear that, @westcountrysurf. Can you try switching to Chrome or FireFox to see if that helps? I have a feeling it's something specific to the browser you're currently using.

Hi Adam. I have no idea how to do that but I'll give it a go now and see what happens!
Many thanks for a speedy reply.

Yes it is a little problem. What I have discovered by accident is that after you creat the link, tap that stupid box few times and immediately publish....

I am having the same problem. Hyperlink box will appear for a flash then disappear. I have tried Edge and Explorer 11. I should not be having this problem. Don't ask me to download more browsers. This should work with any browser I have. I am a paying customer and should have no problems. Fix it. Use my email address for replies not this message board. [email protected]
Thanks, Joe

Sorry to hear that, Joe. Edge and IE are related browsers as far as how they function and the code they're based on. If you have a problem in one it will likely be a problem in the other. If you switch to Chrome or FireFox I really think you'll have a much better experience - not just at Weebly but in general.

Hey there CAFCSA! Just to clarify, when you're in Chrome or Firefox, and click the link button on the text toolbar, the menu doesn't appear at all?

What steps do you take to try and make a link, @BretHarrison? I know we often ask this, but it's really the best way to try and figure out how to reproduce what you're seeing.

Hi Adam
I've been spending the last 30 minutes trying to make a hyperlink to my website. I've tried both internet explorer and Chrome and have tried uploading the document about 20 times. I am able to upload my file but after that no hyperlink appears.
Thanks
Ross

I've used Weebly since 2009, and in the past year, I've occasionally had trouble creating a link in Weebly.
Here's how I stumbled upon the solution:
Creating an https link sometimes does not work. Sometimes it's doing www that doesn't work.
Try creating the link in different ways:
https://
http://
www
and just the link itself e.g. google.com
One of those ways will seems to always unlock my hyperlinking issue, and then I am able to create all links from then on...

I have had this problem more and more, and just tried this solution. I simply changed the https:// to www. and bingo. Thanks for posting this solution. This needs to be the number one response for Weebly Support. Save all of this change browser stuff and do this. Good work GeorgeKao. Thank you.

Hi @glamgrrl,
Do you have a more recent browser you could try from? Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer, it's prone to have some issues since it's an older outdated browser. Chrome and Firefox are the preferred browsers to use weebly with. Try another browser and see if you have the same issues. It will give you a good clue as to where the problem is coming from.
