HTML/CSS Editor Not Saving Changes + Bad Chat Support
The "Save" button in the HTML/CSS editor is not working on our site. I type in a piece of code, click "Save", see the change in the preview, then click "Publish". The change does not show up in the Published site. Then I go back into the HTML/CSS editor and find that the new code has been erased. Changes made using the regular WYSIWYG editor show up fine.
When I asked this question in chat, the representative just said over and over that they do not help with HTML/CSS problems and that Weebly does not support the code editor. I undestand that custom HTML/CSS is not eligible for support, but the fact that the editor itself is not saving changes is a Weebly problem.
After responding with the same non-answer multiple times, the chat person finally said that I could try posting my question to the community. However, none of us regular users in the community have access to the code/systems that run the editor. I hope someone higher up in the support chain sees this.
- I would like to be able to save changes in the code editor. That's the main issue. It was working last week, but it is not working anymore.
- The majority of my Weebly support tickets, whether through email or chat, have been negative experiences. It's frustrating to have the representative copy and paste the same response over and over even if it doesn't solve the problem. It seems that the representatives don't have an understanding of how websites or Weebly works and don't care if they actually fix your problem.
Is there anyone out there who can help? Is anyone else experiencing the code editor saving issue? Is anyone else experiencing frustrating chat customer service?

Its working fine here in UK
I travel .. lots. And some times, glitches appear .
Ive worked out that some times these glitches r caused by the routers in some hotels being out of date. In one place, i could not up load photos but in the cafe down the road everything worked just fine.
Even here with a super fast modem 'things' dt always work... i seemingly have to delete the cookies daily to get many websites to function normally.
It never used to be like this. This is within the last 2 months.
If the problems u r experiencing were a global weebly thing.. every one, everywhere would be experiencing them..

So true that clearing cookies and cache solves a plethora of problems. I cleared the browser cache/cookies as soon as I read your post. Sadly that didn't do anything.
As for traveling, I have been accessing the site from my desk on the same computer and on the same network. It worked fine a few weeks ago, but all of a sudden stopped saving last week.
Some more info-- problem is happening on all browsers on both Mac and PC. Also happening on multiple different networks, so it's not a firewall/security problem. And it's only happening on one of our sites.

I have tried updating my browsers. I've tried to edit the site on both Mac and Windows using Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, and the problem persists.
The site we are having trouble with is www.vapld.info

Is your custom theme saved in the Themes tab? You can try changing to a different theme and testing to see if you can save a change. Do you have any other custom theme sites that have this problem?

Hi - I am having the same issue. I have emailed Weebly but did wonder if I would get help bearing in mind I am changing the code which is why I am adding my comment here.
The site is www.re-made.life
I have re-installed all my browsers (and completely wiped my PC of all traces of the previous ones just to make sure) and nothing has changed. All the changes I make keep getting deleted and this is happening in Firefox, Chrome, Brave & Canary.
If anyone has had any new insights about this it would be great to know. The problem started a few days ago and all I can do at the moment is repeately update the Code Editor every time I re-access Site Editor or make any kind of minor change/addition in the Site Editor which seems to trigger the code to change back again (even when I am not even in Code Editor, I am just editing the site).
Thanks

I believe this was filed as a bug yesterday, @Re-Made. The rep should be able to tag your support ticket with the bug number so that you receive an update once there is a resolution.

Thanks Bernadette
What I have done in the end - as it is the one thing that seems to have worked (fingers crossed) is create brand new Header types with the correct code and delete the other ones, then manually change the Header type in each of the effected pages.
Initially I tried creating new Header types and then renaming them with the original name hoping the impacted pages would pick them up, but somehow when I re-accessed the site after logging out, the new Header Types seemed to pick up the incorrect code of the ones I had deleted and I wondered if it had anything to do with me giving them the same name, so I scrapped that and gave new Headers new names and this seems to have worked.

Have the same problem right now.
It worked fine a week ago but since yesterday the changes apear in the preview but as soon as I publish my site, the old code stil remains. I didn't even change a thing besides the padding-left and padding-right of a theme. This was the only change I made on this site but it stoped working...
Would be great if someone knows the solution or a workaround for this problem.
Thanks
