Square Reader Disconnecting during transactions

I followed all the steps in troubleshooting. It's a 2nd gen reader that suddenly started disconnecting after the green light went on and the customer tapped, it would go off. Then, with a lag time "connection error" "reader disconnected." Wait a few seconds, then hit charge again; the square might try to reconnect. If it does, the green light goes on, and sometimes a message appears. I'm at a busy market, but the day before this started was far more active and we had no issues. Now, it's every other transaction. When it's busy, it's very stressful.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I've owned this reader since at least June '23.
