How can I disable the use of "Custom Amount"?

How can I disable the use of "Custom Amount"?

Is it possible for me to disable the use of Custom Amount as I want our retail sales people to be selecting the actual item that the customer is purchasing and not keying in the amount separately? This will help us clean up our bookkeeping on the back end. Thanks!

Is there any information on when this can be implented? It's wild to me that after 5 years there has been no progress to make this feature at least password protected. This causes all sorts of issues behind the scenes, and with the new layout making this feature PROMINENT I'm terrified at what will happen.

Welcome to the Community, @BeerandCider

Checking in on this Feature Request thread.

I don't have a current update for this particular request, but I appreciate you asking about this one.

Once there is an update, one of the Community Moderators will post a Product Update with all of the information.

Thank you!

We need this feature more urgently now since the update to the register layout. There is no way to categorize an amount if you start with the amount. This is causing significant headaches for our teams.

It looks like this feature has been worked on, but not fully implemented, because the permission setting exists, it's just not editable:

+1 to this feature request.

+1 vote to allow the CUSTOM AMOUNT screen to be disabled on Terminal.  We don't/can't use it.  It just causes issues, frustration and (sometimes) tears, usually mine.

It's amazing that this issue and request from many customers has been open for 6 YEARS. SIX YEARS! Nobody at square cares, and that's why we only use square as little as possible. Will be looking for alternatives.

Please add a passcode lock or ability to remove the permission from particular staff groups. This feature is such a high demand

It's been almost 6 years or 69 months or 2067 days since this issue was raised with Square!

Where is the action on this?

Seems like a rather important fix due to inventory monitoring and staff theft checks. Who's to stop a staff member selling something expensive to a friend for $1.

Come on Square just fix this security oversight once and for all. My only guess is you are trying to find a way to make it another pay to use feature just like everything else...
