If I schedule a session for a client and they don't have a card on file. Is there any way to automatically charge them prior to their visit?

Hi @simonburdeaux! Thanks for your question and congrats on your first post in the Seller Community!
The only way you'd be able to charge them prior to their visit without a card on file is by using an invoice. But you'd want to make sure that you're not doubling up on payments when you're checking them out through your Appointments app.
I think the best and safest way to charge prior to a visit is to try and get a card on file so that you can create a prepaid appointment.
Let me know if you have other questions about this set up!
