Square for Retail and Inventory Questions

Hi Tom, we do not actually have a problem with any of our devices or managing them.  However, something a;ong the line is... What about utilizing separate locations with our devices without paying addition location fees?

Meaning, as a retail store, why can we not utilize more than one location without paying an additional location fee when we would love to utilize one inventory for our Square for Retail account.  It would make life so much easier.  To be more specific, I would love to place items in our brick in mortar store in a imaginary location (It is not physical) so that I can link those items to an online store.  Its the same inventory coming out of the original items list.

We make shirts on demand, a customer pays for a shirt and then selects a free design.  Square will not let me sell something fro free.  Even if I put a price on the print then discount it.  because if they were to get an additional print, a modifier is in place for us to use in the store for an additional print.  The discount feature only allows the item category to be discounted, no matter the amount.

I can not use square with a free print selection which restricts my online store from happening so I had to get my own website and write a code for this to happen.  But I would love to sell on google and Facebook.  So my other option is to graphically put prints on shirts and then post the shirt with a print on it.   That I can do.  But I do not want to put these items on our devices at the brick and mortar store, just the online store.  the inventory is coming out of the same location but the sales would be coming from a different location (Online sales).  Currently I can not do this unless I create a whole new square account, but then those accounts would be able to link together to delete items when sold online from the inventory.  I get you guys ae in a business to make a profit, but us small businesses cannot  afford a second payment for a location that doesn't exist physically.

Give us Square for retail to set up another location for online sales utilizing the same inventory.  the two locations or more is set up for multiple physical locations in different areas geographically.  What about the online sales and the separation of certain items?

Wouldn't you guys profit if we had more sales?  sure... give us brick and mortar store the capability to create a second location without the additional full price fees.  I mean, I can do it if I create a free account anyways and run the inventory through a separate  account but that defeats the reports and cogs reports we pay for in the inventory we control.  Makes sense?

Hey @jgrgetich, thanks for reaching out and for taking the time to share your feedback on these issues with Square for Retail. I moved your post over to our Questions & How-To board, and we'll follow up as soon as we have more information that we can provide. In the meantime, if any other sellers have suggestions on what's worked well, feel free to weigh in!
