Sending card on file receipts from Virtual Terminal without manually entering email address

When using Virtual Terminal to charge a customer whose card I have on file, I still have to manually enter the email or text adress to send the receipt even though that data is part of the customer file.  Is there a why to have it automatically fill the send receipt to address or even send the receipt automatically?

Update: You can now charge a card on file from Virtual Terminal!

To get started:

  1. Go to the Virtual Terminal section of your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Click Take a Payment > enter the payment details.
  3. From the Payment Method options select Card on File.
  4. From the dropdown, select your customer and then charge the card on file!

At this time it doesn't connect with Customer data.  You might try using the Square Point of Sale app or send them an invoice for them to pay off of.  This will save you some $$ in fees and provide a better record of the transaction.

Thanks for your response.  At least now I know I'm not missing something.

I had this very same question.  Is there a plan in place to automatically link email/text info to the "sending receipt" feature?  I hope so...

I don't have any knowledge of plans right now @suzmarcus. Is there a reason you're using Virtual Terminal instead of POS/invoices?
