I recently purchased something through someone's square reader, (about 60 days ago) anyways I need to return it due to some electrical issues it has.
I know normally it would just go back to the card, the issue I have with that is - that cards no longer active. Already spoke to the seller and they weren't sure if there was an option asides from it going back to the original payment method.
~ it was only like $50, and I'm sure we could arrange a partial cash refund if need be. But I wanted to ask for my knowledge as well as theirs.
Thanks!

Hi @KnightlyBaking! Welcome to the Community.
You are correct in that the refund can only go back to the card it was purchased on. However, your card issuer or bank should be able to re-route the funds to your new card for you once the refund is placed.

I made an error ringing out a client for $1430 in stead of $140,when I try to cancel and re do the transaction I was not able to I called square for help and was informed that my client can only get a refund which would take 5 to 7 days ! Plus there would be a charge of 2.6% +10c on the $1430.00 ,that was very shocking since this transaction was an error not a purchase! This was a new client, from out of town ! For good customer service I had to give her a personal check for the full amount! and have square credit my account the next working day they took almost $50 in fees ! People please be aware of this situation this could happen to you !
