Is there a calculator for adding multiple items at checkout?

When selling items by weight, is there an easy way to add multiple pieces of the same item together? We sell cheese all by weight so when a customer wants to buy three pieces of cheddar do I have to enter each one (time consuming) or pull out my old calculator (kind of antique). Couldn't we have a plus button on the side of the keypad to add multiples together?

Hi @Dwking83! Are you familiar with our decimal quantities functionality? With decimal quantities, you're able to sell your items by number and weight. You'll want to login to your online Dashboard and select Items. From there, you'll be able to set up the items you need to sell by weight under the Units tab.

Yes, I am familiar with decimal quantities. I am using decimal quantities to sell my products. My problem comes when a customer buys 3 pieces of the same item. When I have  cheese 2.02#, 3.03#, and 4.04# I have to enter each one separately and my receipt shows three lines. I want to be able to enter 2.02 + 3.03 + 4.04 for the item Cheese and have the receipt show one line of 9.09#. Currently I have to keep a calculator handy to make the addition instead of being able to do it in Square.

Thanks for clarifying @Dwking83. I see what you mean now. We don't have a way to do this with our decimal quantities, but I'll make sure to flag this for our product teams. Thank you for bringing this up. I'd love to have some other sellers leave a comment here if there is a need for this feature for other businesses!

I'm a general contractor and when I buy material we mark up product. I don't see an option but I'm still new if square doesn't have this it be great if they could add
