How to incorporate prepaid sales?

I operate a full service carwash and we have implemented a square point of sale system that we are transitioning over to. Thus far we have found it very capable. We offer wash books like most carwashes that allow customers to purchase books of 5 tickets for a certain dollar value and then use those tickets at a later date to receive a free wash... therefore a prepaid sale. These wash books have UPC codes imprinted on them and we would like to be able to use our barcode scanner to directly apply the discount. Is there a way to do this?

So this is how I do it.

I have a single wash item with that price, then I have a 5 and 10 wash punch card.  These are separate items for a set price.  Like this

Single Basic wash - $10.00

5 wash  Basic punch card - $45

10 wash Basic punch card - $80

Now I can see how many single washes I sell and how many punch cards I sell.  I also have single washes in "Wash" Category and punch cards in "Punch Card" category.  Now I can see where my sales come from.

Now redemption.   I have an item call PC Usage Basic at $0,  I have one for each wash level.  When we sell the punch cards we add the customer's info to the sale.  When we redeem a wash we ring the $0 price PC Usage and add the customer's name to the sale.  This way I can see they bought a 10 punch wash card and received 10 punches.

In the future when Square improves there loyalty program I will use it as a punch card system,  right now you can only do one loyalty program and I would need three different ones otherwise they could buy my cheaper wash and get the best.
