@Bootlegger135 - Welcome to the Seller Community, and thanks for the post! 👐🏻
As for your question, you can export most of Square's reports as a .CSV. This universal spreadsheet file can be opened using Excel. Check out this article for more details.
PS) If my answer solved your problem, would you mind marking it as "Best Answer"? That'll help the rest of the community find what they're looking for. If not, just write back, and I'll continue to help. Thanks!

No. I asked about IMPORTING excel.
I want to replace library with updated version and have questions. Can you answer them>
1. Can I rearrange columns on my revised spreadsheet? My quantity column is several columns away from the core info
2. I am assuming I can rearrange entire rows to edit groupings and add categories. Correct?
3. If I add categories to the spreadsheet do I need to go into Square to create them first?
4. My upload has fewer items than the original. Will it fully replace the existing library with a smaller database?
BIG thanks!

Hey there @Pur3land
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Columns on your Excel import must match our template (The import template cannot be altered).
2. Rows can be rearranged but they may have a different sort once imported (The import tool is just importing data and creating elements for you in bulk).
3. Any Categories, Modifiers, or Sale Tax that exist inside your Excel import must exist in the Dashboard prior to importing.
4. If you need a full erase of the current Inventory I suggest you reach out to our support team so they can assist with erasing your current Item Library. However, I recommend you export the current state of the Library in case you change your mind.
I hope this info answers your questions.
P.S. Welcome to the Seller Community, we're glad to have you here.
