How do I delete an open ticket?

I Run a bakery and café operation. I am switching to square, at least hoping to. One of the issues I see is there’s only a void option for tickets, No way to delete. Ticket feature is very handy, but I frequently have situations where someone will put in a ticket for something and we will have to delete the entire ticket and start over. This happens multiple times a day. I do not want to have to void individual items and void tickets showing tons of voids every day on my record Every time someone changes their mind or makes a change.

 

Unlike some places I am on the up and up and everything is reported appropriately and done the way it should be done. I never want there to be any question about my integrity and the way I do business. As such I do not want my records to show hundreds of voids Per month when I could simply just be deleting items or tickets. I saw directions for how to delete tickets in the Square help. That option is not an option on my square point of sale app on my Apple tablet. Help! I really want to use square if I can.

if you have comp and void option turned on then the delete option is gone from open tickets.  to turn off the comp/void is kind of weird but you have to delete the comp/void reasons on this page https://squareup.com/dashboard/items/settings/comp-void-reasons and then the delete option will be back.

Thank you sooooooo much! This resolved it. I guess I was trying to be savvy a while ago when I created comp and void reasons.

We can’t seem to figure out how to delete an open ticket/check on the restaurant app. Can anyone help? We tried deleting comp and void options as someone suggested on a different post but that didn’t work for us.

Hey @Chilitos - If the Comp/Void suggestion didn't work for you, reach out to our CS team and they can take a look at your account to make sure nothing else is blocking your ability to delete Open Tickets.
