Hello @Oliver5105 !
Just a verification: you mentioned the virtual transactions. Does this mean you're using the web dashboard's virtual terminal? According to this help file, you should be able to use a headphone swiper on any Apple or Cromebook computer running Chrome or Safari.
Other troubleshooting ideas from this help file:
If you’re having issues swiping cards with Virtual Terminal:
- Confirm you’re using an Apple Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, or Chromebook computer.
- Confirm you’re using a supported browser, either Safari or Chrome.
- Confirm you are using the Square Reader for magstripe.
- Confirm you’ve allowed your browser access to your computer’s microphone, as this enables access to the headphone jack where the reader is connected.
- Confirm your computer is connected to the internet.
- Clear your browser’s cache.
- Restart your computer, internet browser, and log in and out of your online Square Dashboard.
If you're talking about the app, please let us know any other error messages you're getting and/or if the reader is visible when you go into the Card Readers setting.
Hope this helps!
