How automated is process of Square Payroll deducting payroll taxes?

I just signed up for payroll service and sent my first payroll out.  When I used Intuit Payroll, it deducted from my account, only the NET check amount.  After that, quarterly, I would electronically send my tax payments to MD and the IRS, at which point those monies were deducted.

I noticed in my first Square payroll, that not only did it indicate it would deduct the pay amount, but all taxes to be collected, as well as my employer portion of the payroll taxes.  So, does that mean Square holds these funds in an escrow until the quarter is over?  Then, does Square automatically file all of these items for me?

Trying to gauge how automated this is.

Welcome to Square Payroll @Survivalbloke. Yep, Suare will collect all tax liabilities each time you process payroll and remit them to the appropriate agencies according to their due date. So, taxes are withheld each pay run instead of being taken out in lump sum.

If you have any other questions as you get started with Payroll let me know!
