Can Square automatically assign a name or number to new check when placing a new order?

Hi, everyone

Does anybody know if it is possible that Square can automatically assign a name or number to new check when placing a new order? Every time when I key in a new food order Square always require me to input “Check Name or Swipe” as well as “Add Note” before I can send order to kitchen printer. This makes an extra step for the servers and easily mess up the sequences of all the checks. It would be perfect that the Square could automatically assign a check number to each new check based on time of the input so all the checks are aligned by numbers. As far as I know all the POS systems that I used have this function that users don’t even need to worry about the check names and sequences. 

Please anyone tell me if this is possible on Square for Restaurant?

I think this is in your printer settings.  I'm at home right now... so don't have access to my POS tablet, but somewhere in the printer settings there is an option to choose custom or automatic tickets.

Thank you so very much for the help! I checked the printer setting and chose Automatic Tickets. But it still ask for manually enter ticket number or name. It didn’t automatically assign ticket numbers.

If you are using Open Tickets it will give you the option to Enter the Customer Number or Name or Auto-Assign Ticket Numbers.  You can find this in your Create Printer Station settings of the App.

Hello,

I'm following this conversation. I would like to start using BUMP and would like to assign a name while taking the order and have it apppear on BUMP. Is this possible to set up?

Ok, so I’m using BUMP and Square. I’ve got my Open Tickets enabled in Square so I can put a name to the order. But still the name doesn’t show up on the Bump screen.
 Does anyone know exactly how to enable this?
