It's come to my attention that Items can be deleted even when there are transactions & stock against them.
There is no audit record in Square of how/who/when an item deletion takes place nor is there any ability to restore the item.
This is a weakness for Square.
Square Support has advised that I post the following improvement to be voted on by the Seller Community.
That Items with no transactions or stock records against them can be deleted however if there is transactions &/or stock records against an item, that the item can only be archived. To complete this, that all deleted items have the ability to be restored.
Additionally that there is audit records on item management.
