"DELIVERY" showing up on tickets
For my extablishment I use POS, online ordering and QR codes for Self-Serve. I also just strted using on-demand Delivery with Square. So, on my online fullfillment i have clicked, Pick-Up, Local Delivery, Self-Serve. As each item is available in these ways. However when I have a QR Self-Serve ticket it Prints the word DELIVERY on the top of the ticket- not SELF SERVE or DINE IN. This is now confusing as I am ACTUALLY doing Delivery and i too says Delivery. Sure- my line can read all teh way down to the confusign language at the bottom for pick up times... but I'd rather it say Self Serve not Delivery. On-line orders say Pick Up- which is great.
Also- anyway for POS order tickets to saty IN ORDERS- that way you can continue to track them and advance to inprogress/ready etc? They just disappear after you ring them up.
Thanks!

Hey @silofood !
First thing to check is that you're running the latest and greatest version of Square. When the self serve option was first rolled out to beta test, the app itself wasn't able to mark orders as self serve. The decision was made to temporarily give the self serve orders the Delivery title with the rationale that you'd be "delivering" the orders to the tables.
A few App Store versions back (if I remember correctly), the Orders section of the app was updated to include the Self-Serve order type. Once you update your issue should go away.
If not, I recommend contacting support. It sounds like a switch didn't get flipped on your account, and that unfortunately isn't something we can help with in the general community.
Hope this helps!

Yeah this is frustrating for our staff as well and has been an issue since this first started and has NOT gone away with any recent updates. Here is my original topic on this:

I just thought of something that could help both of you out.
When you’re in the self serve section of the settings, turn on the Open Tabs option. I know for a fact that these orders will print as Self Serve once you do.
Another bonus is that your customer can run tabs and continue to order. 🤘🏻

Hi ya! Neat suggestion.... so about open tabs. When I click it on- it seems like the coupon code option disappears! We offer disounts/coupons/gift cards and I am wondering where that is no located when you turn open tabs on?
Thanks!

Yes, unfortunately open tabs does not yet support coupons but it is something we're actively working on.

Good question. Open tabs does not yet support coupons but it is something we're actively working on and hoping to be able to support soon.

Open tabs does put the "self serve" on the ticket which is great. Now my issue is that open tabs does not print a ticket until they close the tab. That's not how an open tab should work.

@Jaks
Your Self-Serve Orders with Open Tabs should print on each order. This is a fundamental part of this feature.
Curious if you could tell me more about your set up please? Are you using KDS or just order tickets? IOS/Android? What version of the App and OS are you on? And if you have set up self serve ordering (Square Online) to print on a specific printer.

No KDS. iOS. Not sure on the app and OS versions, I'll report back those later. Where do you set the self serve ordering to a specific printer? Shouldn't it use the print settings for the POS? That was another issue we have. I have set the kitchen meals to print at the cooks printer and the deserts, drinks and sauces to print at the register for the front people. Works great when using the app, not at all for self serve. It only ever prints at the cook station, and only after they have closed (paid for) the open ticket.

@Jaks The self serve orders should be printing like any other online order. On each printer station, make sure the Online Tickets section is enabled and the right categories are selected. ( Feature request @kellyj : have a toggle switch in the online order tickets setting screen that would copy the settings from the in person tickets screen)
Also, make sure one of your systems has the setting to automatically print online orders enabled.
