I could show you stuff that will blow your mind. Could spend a week going over everything. The first thing would be to get your brand and website up and going. Your website allows you to tell your story and is the gateway for your clients. Sign up for Square for Appointments to make it stupid simple for your customers to book with you. Square for appointments will also allow you a better work-life balance in that you can block out times. Visit our website www.keva.com as an example.
When thinking of your website, think about your BRAND and your STORY. Is your company a Noun, a Verb, or both? What are you about? What is your proprietary competitive advantage? Tell that store on your website.
Once your website is up and going, do the following:
- Sign up for Square Marketing
- Sign up for Square Loyalty
- Sign up for Text Messaging Marketing
Next, start encouraging your clients to sign up for your email and text marketing list. It will take time to build your list; however, you will be ahead of the curve.
Enable Tracking Tools
Sign up for the tracking tools already available for your Square website. This allows you to test engagement, track marketing results, and change course if needed.
Buy up all of your competitor names:
Consider using Google Ads (ads.google.com) and purchase all of your main competitor names. This will funnel traffic from them to you and excellerate your grown. I've attached a screenshot.
That's a start for now. Lot's more you can do.

Yes, spoke with Google Merchant Center Support. They helped me with changes to local listings in Merchant and have a list of items that I should follow up with Square to address.

Growing awareness comes down to clarity and consistency.
Looking at your site, I’d recommend focusing on one main call-to-action. Right now you’ve got “Shop Products” front and center (eCommerce), but the secondary button says “Book Now.” Since I don’t see hours, address, or service details, I’d ask: what’s making you more money right now, services or products?
Double down on the winner first, then expand into the other.
If you’re a local service provider, Google Business Profile is non-negotiable.
Set it up if you haven’t already, then:
Collect as many client reviews as possible
Post 3x/week (before/after shots, in-progress photos, quick updates)
Keep your hours and info up-to-date
That way, when people search for “hair near me,” you’ll actually show up.
For inspiration, here are two salons we’ve built Square sites for services:
Hope that helps! 🙂

How's your social media presence? I would assume this is quite a large part of this industry?
