How can I print an Invoice from Square Stand via a USB receipt printer?

A little background:

I operate a brick and mortar retail store.  With the addition of pickup and delivery I've been using the Square Invoice feature, which has been pretty great.

Typically I use the Square Stand with ipad to checkout items.  I have been using my laptop to assemble invoices, but my staff and I can check existing invoices on the square stand ipad (for example to confirm they've been paid before releasing a package for pickup).

My square stand hub connects my cash drawer and thermal receipt printer (star micronics)

Here is my question:

Can I print an invoice from the square stand pos to the thermal receipt printer?  Or is there some other way to print a sales receipt for these invoice transactions?

I would like to be able to include these receipts in a customers carry out bag when they come for pickup.

I wish you would seriously look into this. I know it can be done! I was going to buy the terminal and probably upgrade to the retail version. But we are tired of needing double entries with our tickets. We have a mattress store. We sell them and deliver them. We even warrant them. So we need the customer's name and address on the ticket. And we need to print it. And we need it on real paper not thermal paper because our mattress warranties last longer than thermal paper. I thought square would be the fit for this but I guess I will have to keep looking for the right software. It seems strange that I can manually enter the customer's name and square stores the name but you can't print it on a ticket!

I need to print invoices from either the square register or the square stand.  I have a many customers that with out a printed paper invoice take forever to pay their invoices.  They either look over them or they go to an email black hole.  And a few of my whole sale accounts (grocery stores) that need a hard copy to check the order in, Email is NOT an option.  I know I can print one from the back office on the dashboard, but if I am not at the store that day my employees do not have access to the dashboard on the office computer.

Right now, there's not a way to print an invoice from the Register or Square Stand, only from a computer using a laser printer.

Thanks for your post. Great question, we might have a workaround.

What I recommend is opening the invoice in your app, tap on the invoice that you would like to print the receipt for, scroll down to "view transaction," then tap on "new receipt," and it  should give you the option to issue/print a new receipt which you can attach to the bag for pick up.

Let us know if this worked or if you have any other questions.

That works well for paid invoices, thank you.  I don't see the same options on outstanding invoices.

We still need this feature!  What's so hard about adding the ability to print an invoice from the square terminal to a wireless printer?  A lot of people need this feature!  If we can print from the dashboard from a pc, we should be able to print from the square terminal as well.  I do not want to have to use a terminal and a pc just to ring out 1 customer.    Please fix this!!

At this time Invoices can only be printed from the Dashboard via PDF to a regular printer, @Pedestrian. If you are using a Square Stand then you should be able to connect your iPad to a compatible printer and completing this task.

This article should point you in the right direction on how to get a PDF invoice.
