Feature Request: Customize category icons, and add photos to categories like items

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Can you apply pictures for categories?

Would LOVE to be able to add a picture to each Category I create. I see we can add a picture for items but not for categories. Could you send a request for a future update for this? Would make our Square Register screen so much nicer and prettier. Thank you.

Actually I only read the first part of the comments in my email and saw that there was an update. So I restarted my app because I couldn't find it. Then I went to see if there was a new update. Then I restarted my Ipad only to read the remaining comments..... hahahaha. And the waiting continues.....

YES PLEASE Square make the category icons editable like the item ones (in particular with a picture)...

Of course!

If you have the latest version of Square POS installed on your mobile device, you can now edit the Category icon the same way you edit an Item icon!

If it's on the home screen of Square, tap and hold on the icon of the category for Item Setup, then tap again to edit, and Tap to Edit again on the icon, and edit away!

If it's not on the home screen, go into the left hand menu, tap on Items, and then Categories, find your category of choice, and tap Edit Category, and Tap to Edit the icon.

Hello @bfcstore, it is only on the Point of Sale app for now. You can edit the color of the category and the text. We do not have the ability to upload an image for the category icon.

I downloaded the app and started testing it, so I get to the basic part of adding pictures to category and I see is not possible. How can the developers missed such a basic but important component? then I try to get answers and I find this is something alot of sellers have requested since more than a year ago, but the answer from square is "Our programers are tracking this request"

Does it really take a year to listen to clients request for something so simple? I'm having serious thoughts as to continue testing square as an option for our restaurants. 🙂

I would love to be able to add a picture to a category. Please put this on your "to do" list. Reading through all the replies, people have been asking for this for over a year...and still nothing in the works.
