Weebly not providing product description to Paypal also no address since paypal upgrade

Spoke to Weebly at length about this and they blamed the "new" paypal" API. Contacted paypal and they say no change to API. I am fustrated with Weebly support. Anyone else having this issue? Mine occured on 9-16 when I was forced to do and upgrade to paypal even though I already had a paypal business account.

iie: Order Desk!!!

I sincerely hope this was not all Weebly plan to force us to pay an additional $15.00 per month ,in order to do business ,for something that was free when i sugned up!

This idea makes me angerier than the actual outages!!!

Adam,

please just answer this question honestly so I, and others like me, can know what to do!

Are y'all going to fix this mess or not?

If not please tell me so I can demand my 510.00 back from prepaying 2 years of web hosting..(Of which,  I have only had 1 month worth of useable ervice). cut my losses and move on..

Or, if y'all are planning on reinstating the interface with PayPal, Fix the bug with sales tax, fix the bug with "Order Printing", etc within a reasonable time frame,

I and the thousand of other sellers on here, contemplating finding a different web hosting site,- one that actually works,., may be inclined to try and wait it out.

and please no two sentence canned answer, we have been patient enough!

pS the Texas State Controllers office  (sales tax) is not happy with Weebly at all!

Just to let everyone know (including the weebly company) you CAN integrate weebly with shipstation.... download the " order desk app" via weebly and connect orderdesk to shipstation. I have been using it for 2 weeks now.... has put my life back together.  I do have to pay 15 a month but worth every cent.
I lost 2 weeks of my business after the paypal update nightmare. Would have been nice if I could have been told about this by weebly and not figure it out on my own.

Sorry, but I don't plan to pay for an additional app when I already pay for a service that isn't working.  Not going to happen.  The problem needs to be solved. Period.

The reason that we're not providing the information is because there's a problem on PayPal's end, and it might cause other issues. PayPal is working with our engineers, and together we'll figure out a solution for it.

This statement leads me to believe that the issue is on Weebly's end.  Why would PayPal need to work with Weebly on something that is a PayPal issue?  That makes no sense to me whatsoever.  Basically, it appears that PayPal knows they are losing money because of this fiasco and they are trying to help dig Weebly out of this hole, which will in turn help Weebly.

Regardless of WHO is at fault, hundreds of thousands of Weebly store owners are paying Weebly for something they cannot properly use.  (As of May 2016 it was reported that Weebly hosts over 30 million sites.  I realize that only a fraction of them have eCommerce included, which is why I chose to word the statement the way I did.  I am choosing to estimate 1/4 of that using the eCommerce, which is 750,000.)  Now...multiply that by a minimum of $300 (the cost of a Weebly 'Business' package) by 750,000.  That is a whopping $225,000,000!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...  I have noticed that my Business plan was 'magically' upgraded to the new 'Performance' plan.  When comparing the plans, I see that only the Performance plan includes the real-time shipping calculations.  WHAT?!  Are you freaking kidding me?

The few things that the Performance plan includes that the Business plan does not are: ① real time shipping rates,

② abandoned cart emails, ③ gift cards and ④ email marketing.  Quite frankly, I have my email marketing set up elsewhere so this is of no use to me.  (Even when included, the fact is that I simply don't trust Weebly to be able to handle my email campaigns efficiently at this point.)  So basically, I am going to be expected to pay TWICE what I have been paying for numbers 1, 2 & 3?!  Hahahaha!  That's a good one!  WHY on this green earth would I pay twice as much for something that doesn't work properly????

I sincerely hope that those who run e-commerce sites via this platform look at their plans and see what is included before they get used to something that they will need to pay twice as much for!

This is asinine.  Plain and simple.  And the fact that people end up stumbling across this crap on their own speaks VOLUMES!  Typically, a company would email its clients and let them know exactly what has/is changing, especially when they are paying for a service.  Nope, not Weebly!  They send email after email directing you to read blogs rather than just tell you what on earth is going on.  (And half the time the blogs don't include this pertinent information either.)

PS:  In case you couldn't tell, my patience is now gone.  This is just flat-out pathetic.

thank you Adam for finally admitting that... not once has someone from weebly mentioned they have changed things on their end.  Everytime I chat or speak with someone it is all payapls fault.  The truth is appreciated.  thank you.

I'm having the same problem which is MAJORLY affecting my business. I use those PayPal emails to directly contact customers, to keep track of orders, etc. Weebly needs to fix this ASAP.. I'm super frustrated. They are not helping to fix this at all. The upgrade is making me want to bail alltogether.

WEEBLY: You need to fix this so that we are getting the shipping added back as well as a breakdown of items purchased. I've been running my business this way for 10+ years, and I'm not going to change it now.

I have the same problem. It occurred after the upgrade with Weebly/Paypal. Also my customers are no longer being charged for shipping.

Which site are you having trouble with, @rg1? I'll take a look.

@Adam

Has the problem been fixed?  Curious because you asked which site this person is having trouble with.

I don't believe the changes are out yet, though I was asking for the site because of the shipping charges issue they mentioned.

So...  who here has figured out where to go?  Who is the best website service out there to switch to for eCommerce and and semi-easy website builder?  I know there are many out there, but a recommendation from someone who is happy would be great.  Most don't show you full features available until you pay money.  I have devoted many hours to Weebly and have well over 250 products set up in the last 4 or 5 months and it was just a complete waste of my time.  I have even spent extra for some of the additional cost apps.  But...  I am going to cut my losses, I am bailing.  This problem and others has been ongoing 3+  weeks.  Along with all the other problems I have encountered since my start here, lack of features I need, and just overall frustration, my patience is gone.  PM me if you want and have any advice to share.

@xstitchboutique -- Still looking.  I've worked on my site to get it where it is for two years.  I really don't want to risk moving, but I also can't understand continuing to pay for things you can't use.  I've checked many of them and the only thing I can say so far is that Shopify has amazing customer service!  (At least they do before you ever sign up.)  I am like you -- I would like to hear from someone with personal experience.  They are a bit more expensive and depending on the plan you choose, they take a % of the sales.  I don't know anyone who uses them.

@xstitchboutique

I just signed up for the Shopify Lite plan.  My patience is gone with Weebly's e-commerce and so is my trust.  It really is a shame to throw a few years worth of work away, but I am cutting my losses too.  I will continue with eBay and try this.  If Shopify works out, I may open a full-fledged storefront with them.  No more wasting time rearranging things and constantly trying to get things to work properly.  Will most likely keep my site here, but without the e-commerce being handled via Weebly.

Hi Everyone,

I have read so many posts about this.  Not cool.  I have just posted a seperate question within last 10 minutes asking why it's not happening.

Freight not charged since paypal upgrade .  All the details in the thread, including a snapshot of their initial promise. and asking for some black and white answers and requesting to make the service free to existing customers at least.

They have not delivered on their promise.  We too will be looking elsewhere unless this is fixed by the time her new labels have been finalised.  My mother is re-branding so need to re-look and vamp up her site anyway.  Bit of a shame, but this is huge regarding us looking after our customers.

Weebly, you guys stated that the Express service would not change anything, but it did.

Really disappointed.

Cheers,

Kerri

We're working on this now with PayPal to see why it's happening (product descriptions). We're sending descriptions to PayPal, but for some strange reason their API is not adding it to the order itself. Thanks for your patience!

This has been going on since October.  Unbelieveable.
