Google Search Console product errors
I have received an email from Google Search Console that states:
Website: https://www.gvibes.dk/
Top Errors
Errors can prevent your page or feature from appearing in Search results. The following errors were found on your site:
Top Warnings
Warnings are suggestions for improvement. Some warnings can affect your appearance on Search; some might be reclassified as errors in the future. The following warnings were found on your site:
No global identifier provided (e.g., gtin, mpn, isbn)
Missing field "description"Missing field "image"
How am I supposed to fix this within Weebly? All my products are set up the EXACT same yet only 93 products are affected out of 1000 products. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your post. I'm not sure why Google is only showing that for 93 products; my guess is those are the only 93 they checked. Those warnings can potentially affect how they are displayed in search, but will not affect ranking. If that changes I expect that our engineering team will make adjustments on our end to prevent that, though.

Hi Adam
So you are saying that there are errors or setup in weebly that will result in, when google scan all our +1000 products, that they may not display any off our products. So weebly are not good for selling things online, with this problem?
How fast can you fix this, this seems like a VERY BIG issue. I read about this problem with weebly everywhere online, seems like a easy fix, from programmers around the world.
When will this be fixed and are you on it. Seen allot of weebly users with same problem and they got NO solution at all from weebly. So whats the plan???

These aren't errors; they're warning. There's nothing actually wrong with your products - Google is just saying that some information isn't there so they'll display differently in search results. I 100% expect that should this change to where it actually does have an effect on ranking that we will make changes to be compatible with that.

I am getting the same warnings from Google about product errors in my online store. They say it WILL affect search results. I need Weebly to fix this ASAP or I will switch to another provider!

It will affect how the results display in search, yes, but it won't prevent them from being ranked and indexed. I'm not saying we shouldn't add those, though - I just want to clarify that because I wouldn't want someone to think their products won't get indexed and returned in Google search results.

Hi @meoww999 Do you have a screenshot of the error so we can see what product it is referring to?

Hi
On the search console it says it's this product:
https://www.mrssparkle.co.uk/store/p48/wax-crumble-natural-PG.html
However when I've put other products in too, they have come up with the same error so not sure what's going on!

I would think all the products would display the same error, and it is a bit odd that only one item would display the warning. As Adam stated above, though, it's not something that is required nor will it affect your ranking.

This is the same problem I am running into all of a sudden. I put so much time, money, and work into getting everything built and set up this far; A lot of time spent on doing the technical end of things, and have added product, and of course actually running my business.
Now, I am getting this warning, and I’m just now learning that Weebly doesn’t support these identifiers.
The Warning:
"Limited performance due to missing identifiers [gtin, mpn, brand] Add a brand and either a GTIN or MPN. If this product is one-of-a-kind or vintage, you don’t need to add an identifier."
After a year of hard work, I am now realizing I am going to have to move my entire website to another host - meaning I’m going to have to leave Weebly. I am very upset. And knowing that Weebly has known about this for several years, kinda adds to that emotion. It's not ok on any level.
If anyone as of May 16, 2022 knows of a better work around than just ‘hoping/assuming it doesn’t affect anything’, or if this has been remedied in some way that I am not seeing in the obvious places inside of my store’s dashboard, then please let me know.
But I’m in the beginning stages of preparing to move my Store today. Not happy - if any of you have ever had to do this, especially after establishing so much work in SEO for your website, and spending so much time on all kinds of other details, ITS NOT A LIGHTHEARTED TASK. I will be spending all of my time re-doing everything, and doing 404's on all of my pages/links so that I don't completely lose all of my hard work.
Google has required many other websites, like eBay, to support GTIN, MPN’s, or brands or they won’t display things properly…so why is this still an issue here?
