Custom Shipping Options
Is there any way to use custom shipping options? I've got most of my products set up under various shipping rules but I keep coming across things that just don't work well with the shipping rules. I'd like to just be able to say product X costs X to ship for some things.

Which shipping rules are you using now? As far as I know, we have rules by weight and location. You may also be able to use SKU to create shipping rules.
If what we have isn't working for you currently, I recommend posting your suggestion in the "Vote on Features" section of the community. I'm sure other Weebly customers would also benefit from additional shipping options!

I'm using weight & location...I'd love to be able to just set the shipping up however I want...like if there was a way to opt certain products out of the shipping rules and override them with custom shipping.
Thanks Erin!

I am having the same problem. My shop has a huge variety of items that weigh the same but do not cost the same to ship because of their size. In my experience, shipping is actually based on the size of the package more so than the weight. I need for there to be an option for the price of shipping to be added up instead of it adding the price or weight of the items. So, for example, if I am shipping something that weighs 30 lbs (and costs $55 to ship) and something that weighs 10 lbs (and costs $25 to ship), it can be drastically different to ship those 2 things than something that weighs 40 lbs (and only costs $60 to ship). Most of my products cannot be shipped in the same box.
Even if I created a a different category for the each item, giving it more of a SKU than doing it on actual weight, it works for one item. But if there is more than 1 item in the cart, I would have to create thousands of SKUs for the thousands of possibilities of my items.... 1 wine rack and 2 flags, 2 wine racks and 2 flags, 3 wine racks and 2 flags, 3 wine racks and 2 flags and a clock, etc....
I've tried to include shipping in my prices but that creates 2 problems: 1) I sell less because the price looks way higher, and 2) you take a percent of that higher price, as where you do not take a percent of shipping costs.
The bottom line is that I need the shipping costs for each item to add up--a different option than just weight or price. PLEASE make this possible. This is clearly a HUGE issue.

Hello @cmoodie124 @Heirloom_Angel @TronicsFix @mcalmes
So with your situation I would use the ship by weight option to get custom specifi prices for multiple products with the same customer cost but a different shipping price. Basically turn weight into sku for specific prices. So would be weight is set to 444lbs but that is how you determine that certain products cost a certain amount.
For example, I am selling apples and oranges. Apples cost more to ship than Oranges but they are the same price for the customer. Start by setting up the shipping by weight. Apples all have their weight set to 23 pounds and Oranges are 19 pounds. The these two different products will have two different prices upon checkout. You can also set the price for 2 orders of apples by setting a price for 46 pounds and three orders of apples at 69 pounds. Oranges will be 19 pound and then the price for three orders will be 19 x 3 or 57 pounds.
If you have 28 different products that have all the same price as apples, they will all be set to 23 pounds. This is a great temporary work around for now and I have had many customers do this method happliy.
Let me know if this helps! 😃

Thank you, NickyLimes, for explaining this. I was starting to think along these lines myself, but your explanation has helped speed things along. Many of my items have the same price, and weight. However, because of large differences in size - they may require extra packing, and so require a different shipping method.

I also have a problem with this. I would LOVE it if we could offer a 0.00 shipping weight! I sell tons of buttons and would like to offer free shipping on multiple button purchases. With the way the shipping profiles are set up it just flat out doesn't work. So, I thought a coupon would be the way to go. However, that didn't work out either. I am now left to refund the shipping. =(

Exactly this is the type of thing I'm talking about. Also, if there was a way to override the shipping rules and just set it how you want it, that would be awesome.

I am VERY knew to Weebly but NOT new to selling on line. I've never dealt with this problem before and it's driving me crazy. I will be listing at least 500 items -- and I NEED to be able to tell my shoppers how much their shipping will be #1 by itself and #2 with another item. For example, I've always sold vintage hankies, and I put $2.60 in for one hankie and $0.00 for all additional hankies in the same order. I've found that since I began selling on (dare I say it??) Ebay when it was in its third month that buyers HATE to get to checkout to find out shipping amounts. And then in the next platform on which I sold they had shipping price and "with another item" --- and this worked perfectly. The ability to pick the destinations to which you will ship and those shipping prices were available in the same area of the page and sellers would simply fill in the amount to the countries they shipped to. I'm not sure how to deal with this here, because my inventory ranges from 1/2 ounce to large 10 pound boxes and everything in between.

Hi hopscotch,
Currently our only shipping options are by price or by weight, and those won't be seen until your customer gets to the cart.
Using coupons might be one option? You would have to set it by price, perhaps, for it to work the way you want to.
Otherwise, this might be a good Feature Request...

We need shipping option "by product type". And if customer puts a few different products in the shopping cart, the shipping should be adding up.
Kimono - shipping cost $6.00
Pillow - shipping cost $5.00
Total shipping cost $11.00
Also it would be wonderful to have "with another item" option.
For example, each additional pillow cost just $1.00 to ship.
So if someone buys 5 pillows, shipping won't be 5 x $5.00 = $25.00. It will be $5.00 + $4.00 = $9.00
Thanks!

Hi @JustImagine,
Our only shipping options are by price or by weight. However, you could forgo shipping settings and add the cost of shipping to the price of each product.

Hi Brodie,
I know what shipping options are. Adding shipping to product price is not an option.
In order to be able to set shipping prices, I signed for Business plan.
My post is about what needs to be done in order to have a fully functional and efficient eCommerce site.
It's not a luxury, it is just how things should be.
No offence, but it looks like many people are strugling with current shipping and looking for work arounds.

It's been 2 years since this thread went silent and we still don't have these options. Come on, Weebly! Etsy had these necessary shipping options available years ago! Setting up individual rates based on an arbitrary weight assigned to each item is an unsustainable practice, and doesn't allow for adding another item. I just upgraded to the premium plan, and I'm kinda regretting it, since real time rates based on weight don't factor in size or insurance.
