"Weebly Pro" Legacy Account
Hello,
I have been a Weebly user for several years now; I believe when Weebly was in its early incarnation. I have watched it "grow" through some tumultuous times, and though the platform has helped me gain customers for my website design business, I have actually lost some through the years due to Weebly's changes, most notably due to e-commerce. I still recall losing a significant potential sum of monthly income, having just trained a client on the old ecommerce/product structure in Weebly's first version, then they added the seperate online store function that destroyed what I had built.
But I digress...I am one of the holdout customers who has 10 Weebly Pro sites available, 8 of which I am currently using. In its current incarnation, I just want to be sure that the the classic/legacy Weebly platform is NOT going away anytime soon; therefore as much as you would like us to convert to a Square site, there is no pressing need. From what I am reading, right now the choice I JUST NEED A WEBSITE when creating a new property with Weebly Pro keeps me in the new editor.
If we DO decide to convert to square, would it convert ALL our sites, or just the ones we choose? Can we have both Legacy and Square accounts under the same e-mail address / password?
I know Weebly/Square has tried to make this easy, but I know conversion will always end up causing changes and therefore possible downtime for my customers' sites. I am hoping that this disruption can be minimized, and it's not clear exactly how Weebly/Square define a converted property; is it SITE or ACCOUNT?
Also, I realize existiing Square accounts cannot be used with Weebly. if I was already using Square elsewhere, with the same e-mail I am using for Weebly, what does the Weebly / Square merged account require from me?
Thanks for the help,
Joe

Hi @RuggieroAV. I can understand your concern about your grandfathered Pro plan. I'm still trying to hunt down a definite answer for you. And for @tnoskoguy as well, from what I have been told, we do not have any immediate plans to shut down the original editor. Nor do I think we would ever do that considering how many users we have using the original editor.

Thank you @Bernadette, and I look forward to a more definitive answer. To underscore my concern, while I realize the legacy editor is not going anywhere, I fear sites designed and published using this editor may eventually become difficult to maintain or certain features may just stop working. I suppose this is a caveat when dealing with an all-inclusive infrastructure, where design and hosting are one and the same.
