+/- and bold buttons not functioning at all!!!!!!
Hello Weebly,
I've contacted your support team since last week and you still haven't replied to me back. I wanted to say that there is a very irritating bug that is driving me nuts. The + and i button along with the Bold button are not working at all in the dark text bar. Whenever I try to increase the font size for a text or decrease it, nothing changes no matter how many clicks i do. This goes out the same for the Bold button on the left. The others such as Italic, Undeline, or Insert Link all function normally. So please fix this ASAP because this has become extremely annoying. Thx.

Hi @monstr,
There have been quite a number of posts here about that exact problem - including mine. I've been informed that it is a high priority and the Weebly engineers are working to solve the problem. It is apparently most prevelant with the latest version of Chrome (58.x).
I think some users have had success with another browser as a temporary workaround. The short-cuts for bold, italics, and underline should work instead of the buttons. i.e., Ctrl+B or Cmd+B, Ctrl+I or Cmd+I, Ctrl+U or Cmd+U respectively. The only workaround I've found for font-size is to copy it from another element where the text was already the correct size, and then edit it.
It's a shame you didn't get a reply, I'm sure they're as frustrated with it as we are.
Cheers, Mark

Hello Mark (MJCS),
Thank you for pointing out these shortcuts "Ctrl+B or Cmd+B, Ctrl+I or Cmd+I, Ctrl+U or Cmd+U" as this was driving me mad for the last couple of days. Didn't know about these. And yeah, hopefully they will fix the issue sooner or later. I wonder if there are shortcuts though for font size increasing and decreasing that can be used for the time being. Anyways, thx for your help. You're the first person to ever answer a question that i post in the community. lol

I've been searching for shortcuts to change font-size - nothing I've tried works, but I'm still looking. The problem is - sometimes the shortcut I'm testing does weird stuff to the browser window instead of the content!

Sorry for the trouble, guys! This is definitely a higher priority bug - it's taking a little while to figure out which exact piece of software is being affected by this version of Chrome.

Hi @Adam,
do you know (or can you ask the development team) if there are short-cut keystrokes or access keys for increase/decrease font size....something similar to CTRL+B/CMD+B for bold. That would be a big help in the mean-time.
Cheers, Mark

Hmm, no, although it's possible CMD and + would increase, and CMD and - would decrease. I know those are also browser zoom commands, though maybe they'd change text size if you have text selected. I'll test that, actually.

Scratch that - it only controls browser zoom.

Will do! I'm trying to not imagine you mashing every key on your keyboard in frustration.

I can't find the cmd button. Is it the same as the windows button? It doesn't work. This has been a problem since 2017 and should be fixed by now. When I copy text into a text box it often comes in as bold, even though I tell it to paste as plain text. I can retype it and it comes out fine, but that is very tedious so I often leave it as bold and it looks crappy. Is there some way to get the bold and unbold to work?

On a Windows computer you'd use the CTRL button instead, most likely. You might want to try pasting your text into a plain text editor, then copying that text. If you're still having trouble, one thing I've done in the past is paste my text into the browser search/address bar, then copy it out of that. It's a little wonky, but that definitely will get you plain text.

I contacted support about this issue on April 28 - that's a long time to not be able to edit website text and blog posts. There are other issues besides the +/-, bold, and italic text issues. I can'd delete spacers. When I try to move them, they duplicate themselves. For spacers in columns, I have to delete the entire element to delete the spacers; I can't delete the spacer in one column only.
When I resize the header image, the pixel size that used to show up while resizing the image doesn't show up - this is a pain becuase I want to have the same size header image on different types of pages.
These issues aren't just with Chrome. Firefox has it's own set of issues.

I just tried some editing in Opera, and everything seems to work. I can +/-, B, I, U, etc. I can delete spacers and I get the pixel size when resizing the header image.
For everyone having editing issues, you may want to try editing in Opera and see if it works for you.

Hello Guys,
Guess what? I've figured out a temporary solution that seems to always work, no kidding. Just copy any emoticon or symbol such as the happy face or anything you want, then paste it next to the text that you wish to increase or decrease, and then select all the text including the emoticon or symbol with Ctrl A, then when it's selected as blue, just click the + or - button, and weirdly enough, it will work! Try it and see.
Cheers!
