Change my website
Simple question I asked Weebly, but all I get are automated replies that don't answer my question.
I want to change several pages in my website. I made a copy (actully there are two copies, tho I'm sure I clicked once for one copy).
My simple question is: can I make changes (content and theme) in my copied website without this affecting the original (that needs to remain live)? When done changing, how do I unpublish the original (old) website and publish my newly changed website?
I like to know before I work on this and lose everything.
Thanks, Robert

Thanks for your post, Robert. Yes, you can edit the content on a copied site and it won't affect the original site. When you're ready to switch everything over, change the site address of the old site to something else; this will free up the site address for use on the new site. If you have a paid site upgrade, let us know when you're ready and we can move that over to the new site for you.

Thanks Adam.
Still a few questions:
When I am done changing text and theme in my website copy, I understand I enter a 'fake' URL in my active site and then enter the correct URL in the copy (new) site. Right?
Why do you then need to 'move that over to the new site'?
What happens to my website in the meantime. I assume it will be offline. What will visitors see then?
Robert
.......I hope it sends now

All we need to know is which site you want to use the upgrade with and which site currently has the upgrade; once we see your reply it will only take a minute or so to move the upgrade over.

Thanks Adam, but you only answered one of three questions.
You only answered: Why do you then need to 'move that over to the new site'?
Please answer the other two

Hey! Thanks for following up. You are correct about changing the URLs of the two sites once you are done making your edits. There shouldn't really be any downtime for visitors unless you actually un-publish. They'll continue to see the old site and then immediately see the new site when you publish it.
