Why is the menu button on mobile phone not working?

I browsed the old thread about this and tried the slolutions mentioned but nothing seems to work. Can someone take a look? Hamburger on mobile phone was working last week. Just noticed today it doesn't show the drop down when clicked.

I switched to a few standard themes but that didn't fix the problem.

Removed all the elements of the footer one by one and the jason-ld schema mark up is causing the mobile navigation to not work. Thank you for your help Bernadette!  I dont understand as my other weebly sites have the jason ld schema on the footer too but I dont have this issue.

Hi @teacup3 I responded to your other thread, but I'm pretty positive it is your phone script in the header area causing the problem. Can you please remove it from Settings>SEO>Header and then save/publish.

Tried that and didn't fix the problem. Even just while on editor when I preview the mobile version, the hamburger menu does not open to a drop down. Any other suggestions???

It looks like there's also a script in your footer. What is this script for?

The code on the footer is my JSON LD schema. I have a youtube video thats sometimes loads live and sometimes it doesnt. I will remove them for now.

Also make sure to publish so the changes go live. I'll check from my end once you have done this.

Glad to hear it worked out okay. Maybe it's the base theme? It will take some trial and error, but I'm sure you will be able to figure it out if needed. Smiley Happy

HI, just realized the menu button is not working on my site either. I'm using an older theme with a custom color, otherwise no other changes. Can someone help???

If your theme is customized and older it's possible that it may no longer work if mobile responsiveness was updated by Weebly. When weebly updates themes they don't port those over to custom themes. I think it would probably be simplest for you if you just switched to a standard theme, then customized the color again. That should get you with a theme that works properly on mobile but keeps your custom colors.

I'm having the same problem with the drop down menus not working but on the desktop version of my site. When I put in the specific URL, it comes right up but getting there from the menus at the top hasn't worked in about 2 weeks. I don't have a custom theme or any fancy scripts; I tried changing the theme and that didn't seem to help either. Here's my site:

Any assistance is appreciated!

Hi @cnsarrismusic Did you recently update your theme or make any changes since posting this? I just took a look at your site on mobile and all of your pages are loading okay for me on my mobile device. I'm clicking on each page from the hamburger menu in to top left corner.

I too have that problem, the menu will not work,  I noticed the other sites in this thread is working fine when I try them.  I would appreciate if someone would test my site eumungerie.weebly.com because it might be working fine to the world but not on my end no matter which browser I try.

Maybe this is a device specific error... What is the make and model of the mobile phone you are using?

I'm on an Android as well and can open all of the pages. 😕 You said you have tried other browsers? Which specific Android are you using? Mine is an LG but if you let me know your brand I can see if we have a test device around.

Yes,  too have a problem on the desktop - the sub items don't appear any more when I hover over the top level item. It looks fine in the Weebly site editor, and the mobile version works, displaying the sub items. Just not on my desktop - www.jondaveyphotography.co.uk

Hi @JonDavey This might be due to the custom theme, unfortunately. Do you remember what you edited, and have you saved the theme so that it is available to access again if you test a standard Weebly theme? It should show up under Theme>Change Theme>Custom

If so, I suggest switching to a regular theme (looks like Birdseye) publish, check for the error, and then figure out your next step. Weebly employees can't assist with custom code, and I think it might be a little difficult for any user on here to assist as well since there's so many lines of code. 😕

If you don't want to switch themes, you can also copy the site (three dots to the right of upgrade on the main dashboard) and switch the copy site to a standard theme to test. You will just need to publish to a subdomain. Hope that helps get you going in the right direction!
