Weebly NEEDS things for modern web app development, such as :
-serverless
-ipfs for privacy
-decentralized applications support
-jamstack
-root access (so I can get rid of editmysite and junk slowing my load time)
-built in support for progressive web apps
-allow Weebly developers access to ALL source code
There are many many many many many platforms that are way better than Weebly for modern web app developers. Look at Netlify, Vercel, AWS Lambda. Weebly is no longer the future. Maybe for a simple wedding site or blog, but for those that want to build modern web apps to shape the future like me, Weebly is a bad platform.
Where is the love Weebly has for modern app developers? I've written in these forums for years and all Weebly says is "we're thinking about it". Well, if you want Weebly to be better and compete with the best out there, step your game up.
Weebly shouldn't just be a website builder. Don't get me wrong. it's great for simple websites. PLEASE open Weebly up for modern app developers and let us mess with the code more. Give us root access and allow us to create serverless jamstack pwa decentralized applications with Weebly.
The Weebly community has been begging for all these features. I expect them to come within the next month or very very soon. Or I will be leaving Weebly for something for actual modern web app development.
