Video upload fails

I chose Weebly because of the direct video upload feature (up to 1GB per videofile), but I can't get any videofile over 180 MB to upload. The upload(bar) simply freezes/stops every time I try.

I've tried different browsers. My uploadspeed is 20 Mbps/s. My videofiles are mp4.

I really don't want to reduce the size, and quality, of my videofiles further.

I'm on Google Chrome.  I've changed the name to one word.  The size meets specifications.  Still doesn't work.  Weebly needs to make this as user friendly as possible and code into their system away to overcome all the obstacles once we meet specifications.  This "Wait!  There's more!" **bleep** has got to go!

It is because Weebly is a joke when it comes to this part of their website.

Look back for years and find the same problems being complained about....

What will never fail is their ablility to take your money.

I am having te same issues when uploading video Mp4. I was able to upload HD video files that were around 900 mb but not anymore! Very slow uploading and it usually hangs and then if I get past the upload phase it has been giving me an error. I tried to uploaf less than 400 mb videos and they no longer work either. It may be time to pay for a different service!

There was an issue with video uploads that our engineering team resolved last night, @Denny1. Are you still having trouble?

Good day Adam,

I have had issues with the uploads over the last 3-4 weeks.

Uploads take very long and then suddenly don't show the upload bar.

Video box reads "uploading video", but does not.

I have on a daily basis tried to upload a single 750mb video over the duration of 18hours and not been able to. I then repeat the process the following day and the next, and still can't upload.

I have only uploaded a fraction of what I need to run my membership site and it is creating a problem.

Please be as kind as to urgently assist.

Thanks for posting, @FuSui. Do you have access to a different network you can try for internet access? Sometimes a video failing to upload can be a problem with the video file, but other times it can be a network issue.

I am having similar issues trying to upload a bunch of very small .mov videos. The first ones I uploaded all worked without a problem, but then I started getting the "fail" message, and am stuck. I also have .mp4 versions of these files, but they aren't working either. I've tried Chrome and Safari. I've tried the Incognito window in Chrome. No success.

Can you try restarting your computer and internet modem, @shawcago1? I'm not sure if it will help but it's good to rule out some issues that could be easily fixed by doing that.

Restarting the modem and computer did not have any effect on the problem.

Ok. Can you try using FireFox? I don't think it's a browser issue, but it's good to rule it out.

Adam,

Still can't upload.  I'm on Chrome.  File is 163 MB.  Name is one word.  This is rediculous that you guys haven't fixed this years ago with so many complaints.  As far as inefficiencies, this platform, since I upgraded to business premium whatever it's called, is just the gift that keeps on giving with not doing what it says or wasting my time making things that should take minutes become hours - and based on what I'm seeing here, can be months or years.  Come on guys!  Do you want to stay in business or not?  Get it together!

I can understand this is really frustrating, @harymarris, especially when there's no obvious reason why it isn't working. Have you tried exporting your video to a different format so it re-encodes it?

This is so obviously a Weebly issue. The same problems for years. Every time you Weebly moderators come back with 12 different time-consuming possible fixes for video uploads/encoding that never seem to work for us. Year after year, the same problems.

I've been a full-time Weebly web designer for 3 years. I'm having the same problems as people on this thread have been experincing since they started posting in 2016 (I've read them all). We shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops (which never work anyway) just to upload a bloody video to a Weebly Pro/Business site. The change of ownership to Square changed nothing for stupidly loyal Weebly customers. Weebly never reciprocate client loyalty. Weebly never fix inherent technical problems, never release updatee and never introduce anything new. It's pretty pathetic.

Justin
