This is a huge problem, as I am designing a subscription based site. I have tried disabling it via header code, but no luck. I know that this issue has been brought up multiuple times here, but I havn't been able to find an answer. I would hope that this is being looked at, as it is a deal breaker for me, and I'm sure many others. Any help that can be offered is greatly appreciated. I don't want to leave Weebly, but if this isn't solved, I won't have a choice. Thanks in advance.

Thanks again for the input. I ended up going the Vimeo route, and it's working well. I'm still hoping to get a reply from support, but we'll see. I thought I'd include a link to a great site that will generate the code to embed a vimeo/youtube etc video responsively, in case anyone runs into this same issue in the future. It's easy to use and works great! https://embedresponsively.com/

It is a huge problem but it's not a Weebly problem. It's a web-wide problem. Leaving Weebly will not make any difference to your videos being downloaded/copied.
It's pretty much impossible to entirely prevent video downloads on the web. Even if downloading is disabled, screen recording software can still copy the video. Even if you encrypt the video data (e.g., DRM) decrypt software is still widely available to download the encrypted video and remove the DRM encryption (even major film studios can't stop this piracy). The ASPS system claims to be the only reliable method of completely eliminating video downloading/copying but it's not cheap and videos can be viewed only on the Artis Browser which is available only for Windows XP+ and Mac OS10 (and there are no plans for any other OS - because they're too insecure!). It's not really an option for a wider audience.

Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. I realize that if someone is motivated to download/record videos, then they will find a way to do it. What I am trying to do is not have the casual/non techie be able to do it with one click. From what I have read, the problem in this specific case is with the Weebly player, and the Chrome browser on Android. So while moving to another platform will not eliminate the problem, a video player without a download button will mitigate it somewhat.

I'm not sure whether this will work or not, but what about uploading videos to Google Drive (or Vimeo) and marking them as not for download, then generating an embed code and placing the code in an Embed Code element? That way, the videos are viewed in the Google/Vimeo player. It might bypass the Android issue.

Cheers for the weblink. I had no idea such a thing existed and I've already passed it on to someone.

I'm not sure that this problem is solved, even though my reply is marked as a "solution". At best, it's a workaround to a bug in the Weebly video player that still needs to be fixed.

Hi!
I have same problem, I cannot let anybody download a video, but it needs to be part of the page, not youtube link.
Have you found any solution please?
Thanks,
Tatiana
